Pig's amps is at a good starting number. It is right where it has been for a few days. I have to go to work @ 3:15. I do not have to leave the house until around +3. Do I have enough data to safely dose and leave for work at this time??? Any advice would be appreciated...

Ohhh... I am so nervous. I could not stall it anymore. I made the decision and gave the R. I will be at home until +3. I honestly felt like I had enough data to on both the R and the new dose of L to see where he was going to go. He has been holding pretty steady and I did not want to disrupt that. I really hope I made the right decision. I looked and looked at the sheet and he never seemed to drop to low. I also made sure it was a good .5u dose... Agh! This is nerve wracking.. If his numbers are way lower @ at the +3 then I will call work and go in later. Omg.. I am freaking out.

I am going to need a gallon of tequila after this is all done... lol. I would not have done it if I did not think it was safe... But, I am not an expert and really do not trust my choices. I always try to do what I feel is right for Pig..

Fyi, as crazy as it seems, there are fewer folks around on weekends and holidays. So if you are "planning" something try to line up support in advance; if crisis, use the 911 prefix; if urgent question, use the? Prefix and put subject in your thread; and always remember you can tag people. And also if it's time sensitive put That in title too. Unfortunately for you, lol, I'm pretty much only good for moral support and cocktails!;)
Post your +2 and let's see if Pig intends to keep things safe and even. :)

I did not even think of it being the weekend! Duh on me! Lol. I am fairly sure we are okay. I will have a +2 soon... I will go into work late if I feel it necessary. I am also feeding before I leave and setting up the auto feeder.

Cocktails and moral support are just fine with me! Haha!! This mom is a bag full of anxiety...

Doing all right! I suspect that his +3 will be pretty flat... Right at the same # as +2, but then again... It is Pig after all.. Lol

You have movement. Are you going in or late or not at all? Waiting for +3 to decide?

Waiting on +3... He usually starts running flat right about that time. I want to see if he is doing the same thing. I am feeding at +3, +7.5, +9.5

Either way, he is still a long way off from a hypo, but I do not want to incite a bounce either...

I think all is safe. He seems to have hit his flat curve run.

    +3 299

He is eating now and will do so again by auto feeder at +7.

Looks like he is running numbers just like yesterday... I am going to go to work, but I will not be happy about it... haha.

Most likely sending an employee with a key to check here shortly...

    Hi there
You have a number of well documented .5uR cycles under your belt. You are developing a feel for Pigs responses, building your instincts. Even so, as they say in the world of finance "past performance does not guarantee future returns" . That is where the leap of faith comes in.
This is how you learn to trust your judgement.
I agree, its unlikely that he will dip below 50 this cycle. If you end up triggering a bounce, consider it a meaningful learning experience - you will have gathered valuable data.
The auto-feeder is invaluable for situations like this. It was a lifesaver for us.

Are you considering another L increase?

@Sandy and Black Kitty I seriously just cried when I read this. Thank you. I have been worried sick all day... But, it just felt like the right thing to do...
Yes... I believe he is due for one tomorrow morning. Schedule at work change and I will have to be here, but I have a fabulous brother whom I have trained in the ways... He will be able to do the shot for me. Maybe I should stall the L increase until tomorrow night...??

I agree with Sandy, time for the L increase. Nothing beats getting to a good Lantus dose. So far, the cycles you increase seem pretty boring - course, that could change. :cat:

That is my only concern... My brother will not be able to sit with him to monitor. However, I get off at 3:15 so will be home well before the nadir. With no R this should be alright... ??

Okay... Sooooo, drum roll please.... He was just fine. Haha.
And, in that case, we are off again on another round tonight...

it’s unlikely that you will see action on the first cycle of an increase. If concerned, you can always throw a mini meal or two in the auto feeder.

Okay! Yes, I can set up a small snack for him! I will say that you are entirely right about the auto-feeder. The thing is a godsend!! Most amazing contraption... :joyful::cat:

Well, finally got the shot in him around 11:30p. I will most likely move his shot time out to that time anyways because I simply cannot get all the added steps done in 10 minutes. Not to mention, Tail has decided that he does not approve of Sheba pate anymore and has demanded FF. FF is way to high in phosphorus for Pig, so I feed them separately. Only, Pig won't eat his and Tail wont eat his because they are both more worried about what the other got... So, Tail finally finished his and I let Pig see that it was all gone and he reluctantly gave in and went and ate his.. But, only because he saw Tail sniffing around 'his' bowl.. smh. These guys are impossibly amazing...
