Yesterday

Squallie is snuggly today (it's cold!) and pretty full of himself! Everything is a toy today, lol.

I hate these numbers: not high enough for an increase, but higher than they were earlier this month. Fattening up the dose didn't seem to have much effect at all this time. Oh well...it's not like we haven't been thru this about a million times before, lol!

 

I'm glad Squallie is feeling so playful. They are still good numbers. Try to focus on how he is feeling.

A curious question... what does it mean to "fattening up the does"? I'm not sure that I read that on any of the sticky's yet or have forgotten.

 

Hi, Anela. You can give a "fat" or "skinny" dose by moving the stopper in the syringe to a position just after or just before the line for the number of units you give. It adds or subtracts just a teensy little bit of insulin to help fine-tune the dose.

 

Snuggly and happy is good and so are his numbers. Impressed by his SS as always.

 

Thank you for your response, it brings up another question I’ve been wanting to ask and I’m sorry I’m using your thred to do so. But since it sounds like you know what your doing.... where should the stopper be if considering 1 unit, top of stopper on the bottom of the 1 unit line, top of the 1

 

I usually try to get the top of the stopper right on the black line, or as close as I can. I guess, technically, that would be the top of the stopper covering the black line, but not going over it. By "top of the stopper"I mean the side closest to the needle end. Hope that helps!
