Willow is back at the ED vet with vomiting and acidic system from the diabetes. She had a checkup just two days ago and was recovering well from her 4 teeth removal and her diabetes seemed to be stabilising with lower BGs but after a day of high BG she’s not eating and Vomited this morning. Poor little baby. The vet is trying to see if there’s any other underlying cause going on. Her kidneys are fine at least which is good news. We just hope we can get her back to being well again. Have other people had trouble stabilising diabetes in their kitty?

Update: vet says she actually isn’t acidic which is good news but they are treating dehydration and nausea. I’m wondering if we need to look at doing subcut fluids from home. Do other people do this?

I am attempting to do subq from home on my CKD civvie. It is a work in progress but is doable.

There are loads of people here who can help with subq fluids at home. Marje has a very good video on the subject.

Glad Willow is not acidic. I'm sure she'll feel better and fluids and meds.
