Hi. I haven't been around for a while. I have 2 diabetics at this point. Their living area is very strict, no food around, insulin is always in fridge, not expired. I'm baffled. Gertie is pretty well regulated but not perfect. Gizzy is all over the place. Not horrible numbers but definitely not regulated. I'm feeding FF right now but looking at changing to Instinct tomorrow. I can't find the food list or the recommended calorie chart. Thanks.

PS, I have an appointment for Giz on Monday to do T4 and whatever else we can come up with to check for underlying issues.

One other question. Should I add my second diabetic to this profile or create a separate one?

Just start a new spreadsheet and add the link to your signature

We have a few members with more than 1 diabetic.....The signature can stay the same (as long as everything is the same as far as insulin type, meter, etc) Just add any details you need to on kitty #2

Check out my signature. I had two diabetics at the same time. Be aware, there is a limit on the number of links in your signature block, so you might have to get creative, like I did. I added Harvey to my name, but when they both crossed there wasn't enough room to include the GA.

Ok. I'll check that out tomorrow. Thank you. Is there a way to figure out their calorie requirements?

I've never seen a formula for that. I've been told a healthy adult cat needs around 5-6 oz of food a day, but ECID. Maybe someone else knows....

    There's a general starting formula of [weight in pounds x 13.5] + 70 (so for a 10lb cat, that'd be 205 calories per day)

Weigh once a week and adjust as needed
