Navi’s numbers have been high lately. I had her on 2.2u and she was in the greens and blues a lot, but her preshots were still high and it was suggested I go down and not go any higher than 2u, but to start closer to 1.4u. So I went to 1.4 and her numbers were ok, so I went to 1.6 and they’re consistently higher. Not sure what to do here, but I’d love to get her under better control. I tested her an hour before preshot tonight and she was already at 558!!!

Quick info, she’s on 1.6u of vetsulin.

**edited to add her preshot went down to 410???**

I would try decreasing does to to either 1.2 or 1.4 units. You obtained lower BG with those does than with the current 1.6. Frequently if ne gets higher BG with increasing dose that mean dose is too high.
Also, I would take to your vet about using a longer lasting insulin like the human insulins Lantus/Levemir or pet insulin ProZinc.

Thank you! I’ll go back down tonight.

She has her fructosamine apt on the first (in about 2 weeks and that’ll also be the time I’d normally request a new vial, and already figured I’d bring that up to him. When I sent him her last curve I mentioned that it seems that it just isn’t lasting long enough and he said we’ll discuss it then.

    Thank you again!
