Good evening! I’m not a new member as I had Sabrina(GA) as a diabetic since she was dxd in September of 2012. She crossed in October 2015 from squamous cell carcinoma. I just brought my 4-1/2 Year old, Peaches, for her yearly exam & suspected something was not quite right, so I had the chem screen done..... low & behold her sugar tested at 338 The vet suggested a fructosamine test which I declined, since I’ve seen very subtle signs she’s not quite right. To answer your questions, yes she drinks more water than is desired, her wight has gone up 1/2lb since last years exam, no excessive, ravenous hunger, & noticed some dander in her fur. She does love her sleep though. I pulled away all her dry, which was YA zero carb but then switched her to Orijen Regional Red. She eats FF pates, her favorite is Beef/Chicken Pate. On the morning of her vet visit, I ran out of her food & gave her FF grilled chicken w/cheese. On the way to her appointment she then got car sick & wasn’t too thrilled to be seeing Dr Dana plus got nervous with all the droolers barking in the office. I still have my test kit & will get her acclamated to having her ears fooled with, hoping to get the ss up & runnng to see what she does in the next couple of weeks. Thank you all for listening, any tips appreciated!

Getting back in the testing groove is the best thing you can do for her, along with feeding low carb wet food. :)

Cindy, sorry you need to be back here. Hopefully it is something simple and not diabetes.

Welcome back. BG testing is the key to success, as you know. . With luck maybe your kitteh will get regulated on diet alone!
