Hi everyone, sorry I've been MIA. Cosmo's numbers were really high last week so I increased his insulin to .75u. It still was staying between 250-380ish. So I increased to 1u. We've been doing this for a few days. This morning his amps was 152, I fed him and gave him 1u. His PMPS is 97. Should we skip insulin tonight?

    Thank you!

I would lower it back to .75 tomorrow because I was told that we want to lower so we don’t have to skip

I’d lower the dose to 0.75 u. If you’re off today get some tests between +4 and +6. You need mid cycle data to properly assess a dose.

Okay, so we skipped last night. Kris I didn't get your response until this morning. I just did his AMPS and he is 121. How would you dose him this morning?

Really good number after a skip last night. You could try 0.75 u but you really need to check his response to this dose. A test at +2 can give some indication of where he's heading. If he's in the dark greens at +2 I'd test at +3 and +4 to see if he's holding or dropping.

Novolin can drop BG fast and low but we need numbers to know for sure.
