    Luci's Condo 3-22-18

Wow, she went down last night to 88, fed her a teaspoon of MC FF and the next BG was up a little.

This morning a nicer number to start the day at 162! Hoping to see some green today. :)

I think you are on a good dose right now because Luci touches onto greens in between her bounces. :D

So with 2 u x 2 day, do you think she'll start getting back to more greens; like we had experienced when she was on 2.25. I was re-reading the TR protocol and there's some talk about 'shaving' the dose. If after a few more cycles of all these yellows, pinks and fairly significant amount of blues, should I consider that?

I think that's reserved for long-term diabetic cats or cats that cannot hold reductions, but please don't quote me on that.

    @Sandy and Black Kitty

Maybe the 3 I tagged can help a bit with that and when that could be considered.

I don't think shaving is necessary for Luci at this point. In fact, I think there's room to increase back to 2.25 units. This dose is only getting her the odd high green and the goal is longer stretches in normal numbers.

I agree with Wendy that there is room for her to give you some more lower greens with going back up 2.25 This is the 8th cycle with the reductions and she cleared the bounce and hit some high greens but now she is flat blue. It is not uncommon for kitties to dance around the same dose a few times.

Dose hokey pokey dance, I am familiar! ;)

Hope the increase gets her back where she belongs...surfing in the lagoon! :cat:

Yes, as nerve wracking as it is - with all the testing - I'd rather see her surfing than completely outta the water...that girl was just getting used to it...fingers and paws crossed here that we'll start to see her there again soon :)

And the mere suggestion of a dosage increase and she's at the brink...and then in the lagoon...eating LC foods so far...if she drops again at 2+ I may add a dab of MC and get another test at 3+ to see if we can keep her from going too low...too fast...easy does it Luci..

You did give her 2 units last night, correct? That cell is blank.

I don't know if I would have increased after seeing that 100. I'm more cautious because I never know when Luci plans to break a bounce. :nailbiting: I know you can keep her safe. :)

Oops...choas last night - Luci got to go along to a visit with family - she stayed in the guest bedroom in her carrying cage - I had to administer her insulin there...

Yes, DH and I are both here this evening - we'll take turns watching her closely tonight.

Does anyone have the nutritional info on these two Fancy Feast Foods? I've just picked up at Walmart because Luci is snubbing the FF Turkey/Giblets pate. I'm going to switch it up for her a bit.

    Thank you

Chicken and Tuna is 5%, but I don't see Fish and Shrimp on the list.

    All flaked are between 4-6%.

Do you need the other numbers?

Nope, I found everything on Dr. Pierson's new food chart but just can't find any info on those two FF's - I'll mark them at 4-6%. I write on the bottom of every can what the % of carb is - just so it'll be handy when I select her food. A lot of the seafood/fish varieties are only 1 or 2%.
