Hey there and Welcome to L & L ~ wow, lots of changes for you and Bella. Glad you will be testing her frequently today as some kitties have a marked response to Lantus right out of the starting gate.

Let us know how we can help you. We are all here to help and we remember all the questions we had in the beginning so don't be afraid to ask. That is how we all learned. :cat:

Yes, Lantus is acidic and can sting a bit. A very sensitive kitty might feel it even at a low dose.

Hi there and welcome to Lev and Lantus Land!
I usually draw the dose then let it sit for a minute or two before shooting (usually just long enough for Boomer to finish his meal). Also, if you are shooting in the side, I have found that the further down the side that I shoot the more Boomer seems to feel it.

I do the same thing, just so it isn't right-out-of-the-fridge chilly.

I think I remember some kitties get itchy from LANTUS. Bubb always scratching his chin and neck area right before his shot.

Hi, Welcome. Our Skylar is new to Lantus also. I have noticed that she does better (glucose wise) if she is feed often through out the day. We are looking in to getting a timed feeder as I think it will help with the night time and the days that we are not home. I wish you all the best with your Lantus journey.

Thank you. Skylar was a feral kitty that my daughter rescued and everyone said that she would never come in the house and be "tame". Well, you don't tell our family "never". Skylar is a changed girl and she is a sweetie. She is not one to sit in your lap like our 2 others but she does lay next to us on our bed and she will sit at our feet while we are on the couch or at the kitchen table. Sky loves our 2 dogs. We call her the "fat cat" as she has a little belly, but hopefully with time she will be at a normal weight, either way we love her. Your Bella is a beauty too..
