I gave my cat Cocoa his shot 4 hours ago. His pre-shot number was 423, +2 295, and now +4 96. He is dropping super fast. What is going on any ideas? His numbers have been crazy lately. I gave him some chicken with gravy to slow the drop was this correct? @Wendy&Neko @Sandy and Black Kitty

It looks like +4/+5 is about his nadir. Good idea to slow the drop.

Numbers have been looking better recently, lots more blues and yellows, and less pinks and reds. Looks like Cocoa just likes to dive and bounce, some cats do and some more dramatically than others, that might settle a bit as he comes used to lower numbers. Congrats on your first green! Well done, Cocoa! :D

Cocoa said thank you and to ask me to stop poking his ear lol.

Thank you for replying I was/am nervous. He has been diving lately. I am not sure if his body is finally responding or if he's just being a cat and messing with me lol.

Looks like you’re finally getting close to the breakthrough dose, and yes, it will be a bit jarring when you first start seeing greens, but those are healing numbers. :cat:

Poor Cocoa, you’ll have to let him know he doesn’t get a poke break when he shows his first green number! :p Maybe he’ll forgive you because of the gravy?

That is good news I want him to heal and feel better poor little guy has been through so much.

Oh for sure. I opened the can and he smelled it started smelling the air and he looked like he was nodding. He new the good stuff "gravy" was out. I think he will forgive me but if he knows he will get gravy when he has a sharp drop I think he will do it more lol :p

I haven't checked in on Cocoa in a bit. Can you fill me in as to the dose changes from 3/23 through today? (It can be helpful to put a note in the comment section if you're making changes that aren't immediately obvious.)

Hi thanks for checking up on him. Cocoa is doing fine now. The vet wanted him at 3u so I was slowing bringing him up to 3u. But as I did so I noticed his sugar would drop so I backed off the dose.
