Does anyone have any experience here with cardiomyopathy or asthma in cats? Mulan has been making this noise for months now. She has allergies and cleans a ton. She barfs up hairballs at least twice a week and I also give her hairball remedy mixed in baby food. I’m taking her to the dermo tomorrow for a re check i don’t feel the allergy shots or atopica are doing enough to stop her itching. Worried about this hacking business.

Rufus used to do that hacking/coughing business too, but haven't seen him do it for a while. I'm guessing with all the licking they have fur in their beely and maybe trying to cough out a furball?? I'm interested in hearing what the dermo says it is, if they would know.

Btw, we started the Atopica today. His appetite seems better today (knocking on wood), but he's still licking and scratching and gnawing. Hopefully it'll kick in in a day or 2.

Thanks Sean! I can’t wait for 5pm tomorrow my husband feels it’s just because she cleans constantly

Yeah, I agree with him. Can only imagine how much hair they ingest when they constantly lick :(

It sounds like a hairball, but 2 hairballs a week are an awful lot of hairballs.
It's good that you're going to see the vet tomorrow. Has Mulan lost weight? Does she tear out her fur? Maybe have the test for Hyper T (TT4)? Stu coughed up hairballs all the time and it turned out that he did have Hyper T. He overgroomed and lost weight.
    Sending vetty vines for tomorrow.

Any health issues with Mulan? If no ckd you might try EZ Egg Yolk if it is hair balls. Will be looking for what the vet says :bighug:

Bubs was asking if he needed to get his Tux from the cleaners or is this party going to be more casual?

Good luck at the vets for Mulan. I agree with Ella that two hairballs a week is a lot , even 2 a month is not good. Hopefully that is all it is from the excessive grooming. I use the EY powder and after about 1 week, no more hairballs. Amazing!
