hi I have a diabetic girl. 10 y/o. Been in remission twice but always comes out. Gets 1 unit if Lantau once a day. It seems to last a long time in her based on previous curves. Eats ff can and ff appetizers. She used to be a graiser but since going back on insulin 1week ago she wants to eat more. Very thin. 7.6 pounds but never been big. 10 pounds at the most before diabetes. Any suggestions. Do I keep letting her eat a lot. Or do I need to do something else. I have Purim’s D/m dry I could give her. Thanks

All the dry foods have too much carbs which is not good for her. The purina DM is 18% carbs. Is everything your feeding her low carbs?. I'm only new so maybe someone else will chime in but I did know the carbs are terrible for diabetes.

I know dry food is high. Her weight is low and it is only used as a snack when I am away long days. Her main diet is all ff pate chicken or turkey and ff appetizers. I did hear Evo has a lowr carb dry. I need to get her to gain weight.

Carbs aren't the same as calories. There are low carb foods that are higher in calories, such as Wellness. The food chart on the feline nutrition site lists both calories and carbs for a broad range of canned cat food.

Will your kitty eat more if you give her more food?
