I'm thinking of switching from the vials to the Lantus pens. This would be my first foray into the world of Lantus pens as well as ordering from Marks Marine in Canada. My question is, how many pens at a time do you usually order? I'm guessing that is somewhat dependent on the dosage given - right now Zander is getting 2.75U or less - but is it typical to buy a box of 5 and how long is the expiration period, on average (a few years out for unopened pens)? I'm toying with whether or not to just buy 1 or 2 to see if I like the pens better, but simple math tells me it's more cost-effective to buy the entire box and pay for shipping one time, as long as the expiration date is sufficiently a long way out in the future. Thanks!

I bought the whole box. I was able to use each pen to the last drop. I bought a couple boxes from them and the expiration was always at least a year out. I can’t remember if it was two years though. Call them. Their customer service is great.

I did contact them and they said their pens expire in 2 years (so in 2020), so I'll probably just order the entire box.
