First I want to thank all that helped me through a hard time with Alex pooing on the floor. I got ahold of the doctor that bottled fed him and she put him back on Flagyl. He has had no accidents since Sunday when I posted for help. We think he does the pooing accidents when his tummy is upset. The doctor told me to not get upset and just clean it up and give him a flagyl and she thinks that will take care of the problem. Well he didn't have a poo all day yesterday. So now I think we had gone the other way. Nope he had a poo in the litter pan this morning. So just going to keep Flagyl on hand and uses that. She saved his life. Oh while I was waiting for him to poo I was up past the 6 hour post insulin and he was 153,

Ok not many of you are going to be happy here. We have worked all week to figure out what the poo poo problems were all about. All the doctors, his nurse mommy, and myself tried to figure it all out. I found out Alex was diabetic on the 20th of December. He started the poo poo problem at the end of October. Yep been going through this for a while. Alex has never been a can food cat almost have to force him to eat it. So I have a herpes virus cat that almost died 4 years ago. That is the first time Alex has ever had can foods. He would lick at it mainly. Then when I noticed he was drinking extra I increase the can. He then started the problem. Well in December we changed the dry to a diabetic dry. The diarrhea problem stayed the same. Well with the last straw last weekend. I had had it. That is when we decided to figure this out. We added and changed his insulin, we changed his dry, we tried to get him to eat more can{that didn't work}. we tried diabetic cans{ if looks could kill and the other cat wouldn't even touch it}. The only thing that wasn't changed since the poo poo problem started was the can food. So we are only giving him a tiny bit of it and using dry mainly. A he hasn't had to have any medication and has had NO diarrhea. This may have saved Alex because my landlady is not happy with him having diarrhea on HER rugs. She came in before I could get a pile picked up last Monday.

If it’s caused by a tummy upset, a probiotic might help. I have found fortiflora helps with diarrhea and with encouraging eating. Maybe it would get him to eat more canned food.

I was giving him Flagyl and he still had diarrhea. He hasn't had any diarrhea since we cut his can food way back.
