Two nights ago Kitty went to the place where she will never need subcutaneous fluids again. Now I have about half a bag of "lactated ringer" that I hate to see go to waste. I have a second cat who has a tendency toward anorexia when stressed, and two months ago actually went into liver failure from not eating. She appears to have made a full recovery with the help of fluids and medications, but I am now lavishing attention and love and Kitty's remaining appetite stimulants on her in hopes of getting her through her sister's bewildering disappearance without another episode, and would like to keep this thing on hand to administer fluids to her at the very first inkling of trouble. But I don't know how long the remaining fluid is safe to use once the bag has been opened/unsealed, which happened on Sunday. Can anyone advise?
