I’m trying to figure out it I should reduce Ziggy’s dose from 4.5 to something lower. For a while he was in the 400-500 range and that dose brought him down to the 100s and even the double-digits at his nadirs. However, now that he’s averaging 250 for his pre-shot tests, I’m wondering if I should reduce his dose so that he doesn’t go hypo while I’m away?

Hi Natalie @Natalie and Ziggy ,
Yes, reduction would be safer if you're not going to be around to test. (Did you give 4.25 this morning?)

Looks like quite a steep drop yesterday, and that 55 was a bit low; not dangerous in itself, but there's no margin for safety there should Ziggy drop any lower.
(But I saw your other thread just now and apparently there was issue with reading syringes, and Ziggy got higher than intended dose for a couple of shots?)

It was nice to see a yellow pre-shot again this morning. :)

Hi, @Elizabeth and Bertie! Thanks for responding. I did reduce his dose to 4.25U this morning, yes. I know the high doses are supposed to bring him down from his high numbers, but I’m getting a little nervous about giving him those high doses now that he’s come down a bit.

And yes, the new syringes confused me for the first few shots! He ended up with 5.0U for a few shots.
