Hello Our Joey is now being treated for Diabetes this all started some 8 years back with a skin Problem, Back then he was given Depo this worked well but 2 years back Our new Vet said NO more" because Joey had diabetes and was most likely caused by the long term use of Depo. so my Wife and I started him on 1-unit of lantus every 12 hours, this lasted about 2 months and he went into remission, that was Great, SO we move and take joey to the Newer Vet and this Vet with Joeys records in hand Gives him a Depo shot! well Guess What the Diabetes is Back with a Vengeance, he has Highs and Normal's BS. he will be 145 BS then jump to 400, we started him back on 1 unit every 12 hours and he is still Having highs in the 300 ? we Just don't Know what to do, OH he is and Has been on Carbohydrate free wet food in a very structured diet, Thanks for any Help

Welcome! Stupid vet. I would be so livid. I hope you are fortunate enough for him to go into remission again.

Welcome to all Joey's people! This is a good place to be for information, education and support. First thing I would suggest is creating a signature that will display with every post you make. This tells members about Joey so they don't have to keep asking and you don't have to repeat answers. Info such as kitty's name, age, weight, diagnosis date, insulin used, dosage, what home testing meter you use, what kind of food you feed, carb %, any other medical conditions/issues, any medications. Just select your user name at the top right corner of the page, then select Signature. This information can be edited/updated at anytime.
Second, I suggest you post your questions and concerns in the Feline Health (Main Forum), more people review that forum on the look out for urgent issues or needing more immediate responses.
If you like you can copy and paste your first post in this forum to begin. Joey is a cutie and very lucky to have such loving people as his family.
