    Good morning!
Wow totally wasn't expecting to see green this morning. AMPS 88 shooting .75u

Boomer ate most of his overnight fuds, even most of the +6. His weight this morning is 16.4 lbs. I wish I could find a way to diet him without him waking me up at 2:00 am! Or I need to find a toy that interests him enough that he'll actually play....right now he's more interested in just being a spectator:rolleyes:

We had to break down and fast Allen last night so that we could give him his alendronate this morning. He has to fast after the pill as well but he'll be able to eat in about half an hour. Allen's weight 8.4 lbs so he's lost slightly more than half a pound in the last 2 weeks:( I don't think he had a poop last night. He just had an empty tummy barf but luckily the pills did not come up. The good news is that we got Allen's BG after he's fasted for about 9.5 hours and it's 81!!!

Today on the agenda.....more indoor chores since it's yucky hot/humid out. It's going to be even worse tomorrow apparently.

Nice start for Boomer today.........perhaps giving him several small meals a day will decrease his weight, or just cut down a wee bit at a time at feeding? It takes weeks and weeks to come off and better gradually then all at once. We've got great weather her today too, supposed to be humid but it doesn't bother me. Enjoy and good luck with Allen

Well Boomer gets small meals every 3 hours. He does get an extra meal at PM +3; it's the only way he'll let me sleep. His +9 meals are quite small but I do add a couple of small pieces of chicken. I try to give him smaller meals during the day to make up for the extra food at PM +3. He needs exercise lol

What about a catnip toy? Or less treat, although that doesn't usually work as that's the gift we give for the testing and injections...........LOL

I give chicken pieces as treats and only a couple of wee pieces. With catnip toys he lays his head on them and sleeps lol. What a cat!

Furball is the same way about playing. It is very hard to get a diabetic cat to lose weight when they don't move much. I'm sorry Allen lost some weight, but yay for a higher BG. It's supposed to be very hot and humid here for the next couple of days. It's supposed to feel like 100F. Way too hot for me.

I failed miserably at getting Max to lose weight. He gained a couple pounds as a diabetic. He never played much even when young. His exercise was chasing my other cat and when she was gone he became a couch potato. Good luck.

Yup Boomer doesn't even bother with Allen that much anymore.
What I may do is let Boomer down into the basement "to play". He'll likely just wander around and investigate but at least he'll get exercise walking up and down the stairs.
