Looks like my vet wants to start Cookie on 3 units of Lantus every 12 hours. Her BGLs have been in mid to high 300's. This seems like a very high starting dosage??

The typical starting dose is 1 u every 12 hours. BGs in the 300s are not extremely high for an untreated cat.

yes, I am. Her BGL was 399 this afternoon before I took her to the vets. I told him I did not feel comfortable starting her out at 3 units.
I asked to start her with 1 unit and he was fine with that!! So two hours later after her first injection her BGL was 207!!
