Numbers not budging - could it be resistance, amount of food?

Marvin's numbers are not really budging. I'm working with my vet and will probably increase on Monday.

When I look over other cat's spreadsheets, I don't see a lot of cats getting doses higher than 3.0 units. And we've been at 3.0 and 3.25 for some days now.

Could it be that Marvin is resistant to insulin? Or I am wondering if it might be the amount of food he eats.

I am careful not to test if he has eaten in the last 2 hours. But overall he eats about every 3-4 hours and eats about 1/2 can of FF and some cooked turkey. I'm estimating about 2.5 cans of FF a day. And then about 75-100 calories worth of turkey meat. It's hard to know from day to day since he doesn't always eat everything. I know, I should make more notes. Maybe this is too much for an indoor cat and I should scale back his portions.

He's a big cat (with a big head) and had lost some weight (from 20 lbs to about 15 lbs) rather quickly. And it wasn't good weight loss. He lost muscle. He looks to have gained back a bit but not where he once was. I wouldn't categorize him as an obese cat, but maybe a few pounds over ideal. I know, I need a scale.

Once you find his breakthrough dose it may come down. If it makes you feel better my cat needs 5-5.5 currently.

As Janet said, they need what they need. Continue the 0.25 u increases every couple of days. You haven't reached the "action" dose range yet.

Ok, thank you both! Janet - that does help me feel a bit better.
