Pepper update

Hi everyone. As you know, earlier this week Pepper ended up in the ER again. She would not eat, was visibly hungry but was in alot of pain. I knew it was another tooth bothering her. I had the ER take x-rays also to see if she was constipated also. The ER vet (different than before) told me by looking at Peppers x-rays that she has fluid around her heart and that her lungs look bad and that she was sending us home with pain meds and that Pepper is suffering and I need to make.a decision to PTS if pain meds don't work. Of course after hearing this, I was devastated. I took Pepper to her regular vets office and they pulled the bad tooth. Pepper is eating and drinking and going potty, but still hides a little more than usual under my bed. Long story short, Pepper has an appointment with a new vet on Monday. But I was wondering if anyone here has the knowledge to look at the X-ray and tell me IF there is fluid around her heart. In the 5 times we have been to the hospital and to her regular vet in the past couple months NO ONE has ever said this to me.

 

I can't help you with the x-ray, but I just wanted to say that I am sorry you and Pepper are going through all of this, and I hope that this new vet can actually give you some answers.

I can’t tell from an X-ray. I can tell from a CT scan, but I work with people so I’m not used to looking at kitty X-rays, sorry. He does look constipated,

Yes, she was constipated, and I took care of that. I really don't think she has fluid buildup, but she is getting a second opinion on Monday.

 

The quality of the xray is not very good and part of the chest is cut off. It's hard to make any determination without being able to change the contrast, zoom in and out, etc. Having said that, I don't see any fluid. Hopefully, you'll get better films on Monday and be able to tell what's going on, if anything.
