    Good Evening L, B, & L ~

Status quo for Bubba. We are still holding on to the 0.1 dose, momma is still afraid to reduce any more and since he is handling it, we are sticking with it for now.

Forrest : It's 1 step forward and 2 steps back with him. This morning he did not wake me up until 5 minutes before my alarm was to go off! Yeah! So, momma headed to the bathroom and he accompanied me and jumped into the box and peed! Wowsa! If I don't set him in to the box, it doesn't happen. That's the good news

Here's the bad news: He vomited up his 1st and 2nd breakfast yesterday and slowed down on eating again. I fear that the cyst has filled back up again and making him nauseas and not wanting to eat as much. Since he won't poop in the box, I don't know if he is moving his bowels or not, but so far I don't see any evidence of diarrhea on the back end.

Right now he is outside in the rain, under the roof line laying in the mulch. I don't think he is real comfortable. It's looking like another vetty visit soon. Prayers are welcomed.

And vines to all Beans and Kitties in need especially to Deputy Squallie.

I'm really sorry Bobbie. :bighug: Are they able to drain the cyst?

They drained it a week ago tomorrow. I just hoped it didn't fill back up again this quickly. They usually refill, but at what rate, the vet doesn't know. sigh.

As of tonight, he is eating FF turkey. It seems he has an aversion to his raw food .......I will feed him whatever he'll eat.

Has he poo'ed? I sure hope the cyst isn't the issue.

    Can it be removed?

I do think he pooped last night while he was outside as he had a dingle berry on his bum. When he came back inside, he ate his left over raw I had saved. Yeah! And he ate again at 12 midnight. Maybe he was just full of poop? It's hard to discern the symptoms now as he acts the same with constipation as he does with an abdomen full of a fluid filled cyst.

This morning I got his thyroid med in him and he would not eat and wanted outside. He's back now , so I will reoffer and hopefully he'll eat something. sigh

The cyst can't be removed because it surrounds the kidney....sigh. If he will continue to eat and stay comfy........I can't do an US and drain every week......$$$ And eventually the cyst makes scar tissues from being stuck, making it harder to get into it and aspirate.

Must be a Scottish term. That is always what I have called them too :joyful:.

I know nothing about pseudo cysts. What causes them? What are they filled with? Any other treatment than draining?

Do they use an ultrasound when they drain the cyst? If not, can they show you how to do it as a last resort, so you don't need to bring him in?

Best of Luck with Forrest. I hope it was just constipation this time! :)

They showed me the size of it on an US and then when she was about to drain it they escorted me back to the treatment room. I am thinking that they did use the US to guide the needle. That will be another question for me to ask the vet.

I was reading about Pseudocysts It sounds like an ultrasound is needed to drain the cyst.

Cats have been managed with periodic PNP drainage via ultrasound guidance, and this method may be preferable for cats with moderate to severe CRF, depending upon the rapidity with which the PNP refills .
A notable finding in cats of this study is that UTI was documented in 63% of the cats in which a urine culture was submitted. This is an unusually high prevalence of UTI.
