    Hello L&L ,

I have been crazy busy so many things going on right now I barley get time to sleep.
Took Fritz into the vet today. Main reason was excessive clear wax and black in his ears.
Wanted to make sure it wasn't ear mites, bacteria or infection.
Just as I suspected probably allergies.
She wanted me to put Fritz on Adequan injection twice a week for a month then cut back.
I need help from you guys is this safe? Has anyone experienced this medication if so comments appreciated.

Hope everyone and their kitties are doing well:)

    Hey Deb!

Great to see you and Fritz!

Yes adequan injections are safe. It’s ECID as to whether they will help. They didn’t help my arthritic cat but they do help some.

I believe another helpful remedy is CBD oil.

I hope you are all well. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Adequan helped Beta with her arthritis. She was on gabapentin 50mg/ 2X a day which stopped working and had laser treatments for over a yr which didn't work anymore either. For her, the adequan response was shown after the initial 7 weeks. All of the sudden one day she was able to run upstairs and jump onto my lap from the floor again. When I tried to go to once a month she was limping up the stairs again, so my vet said I could give it to her more often. I think she'll need it every 2 weeks or so.

I've used Adequan with two of my arthritic kitties so far and it helped them tremendously. There is a loading schedule, which seems to differ from vet to vet, but that's the "twice a week then cut back" thing your vet is talking about. With my kitties, once they were past the loading schedule, I found that they needed it every 3-4 weeks; I based it on symptoms. It does take a while for it to initially kick in (I think we started seeing results after several weeks), but after that, when I'd do the maintenance dose, I would see results within several hours.

Also, I've found online sources seem to have the best price. If I remember correctly, the last place I bought it from was Valley Vet. They do need a script from your vet, but they have an option you can select where they will contact the vet for the script for you.

I think I'm going to try the CBD oil. I always want natural over synthetic.
    Thank you so much!

Hi Deb! It is good to see you and Fritz and I hope your world is good!! And I hope the meds or the CBD help. You are all ready giving him Captain Krill oil which should also help.

I started with adequan every week, then every 2, then every 3, then every 4 which turned out to be too long and we went back to every 3 weeks. It helped mine to sleep better from her severe arthritis.

I myself am trying cbd oil for my own arthritis, it takes quite a high dose, and I feel like it has no accumulative effect at all. It helps but it doesn't take it all away, and then it wears off and you need more. I think the way it works is like the twilight anesthesia.... with that I mean that it masks the pain to your brain while it's in effect , but your body is still feeling the pain. I've had several surgeries with that anesthesia and I find that I remember more of the surgical pain than most people. Twilight is supposed to make you not remember what you experience.
So I'm not completely sold on cbd oil and I bought the top rated purest brand. It gets expensive very fast having to re-dose all the time.

My cat gets a shot every week. If I don't she limps again.
