Left my vial of Lantus out of the fridge overnight.

Is it still good? I feel so stupid. I have house guests and got distracted.

I don't know...but I wouldn't give up on it yet. Is your house very warm? or cool? Did you leave it on a granite countertop? Or on the back of the stove? A few degrees might make a difference...how many hours was it out? Sorry for all the questions... I'd use it to see if it's lost it's effectiveness...so expensive just to waste without knowing what temperature the product really got to and for how long.

It was out for 12 hours on a shelf under the counter. Room temperature - probably about 72 degrees.

I think it will be fine.

I've read that it happens and it's usually fine. Just keep an eye out for cloudiness or changes in it. Human diabetics leave their lantus pens in their purse or pocket while they're out and about.

Been there. Done that. The vial still lasted 5-6 months.

Let the numbers be your guide.....if they start to creep up and there's no other explanation, suspect the insulin is losing it's punch.

We've all done it....you're now a member of a very big club!!

I leave mine out every now and again - esp these last 2 weeks it has happened a lot. It’s fine.

    I've done it too.

The pharmacist at Marks Marine in Canada recently told me on the phone that it can be out for several days at less than 86* and be perfectly fine.
