    Woo Hoo! Congrats on the green! Be prepared for a bounce after that, but he isn't holding them long, so he'll see good numbers again soon. Nice of him to do it in the daytime, too.

    I just looked at Jack's spreadsheet. Was his PMPS 224?
    If it was I think I would go ahead and give him something higher carb to slow down.

    Okay, good. Do you have medium or high carb food? Just a couple of teaspoons and another test in 20-30 minutes. We don't want him to drop below 50.

    Well he got back to green quite quickly!

    So he seems flat 15min later, he may well have slowed himself down, you could stick with some higher LC if you have some. Or MC se if he will surf for you. But as he's sailing close to the wind I would keep on top of the testing

    He sure did lol very unexpected! I unfortunately only have LC and HC but will put MC food on my shopping list. I try just giving like a teaspoon of HC and test every 15 min.

    Give him 20min from feeding I know it's nerve racking, but you've got this.
    A tablespoon is quite a lot, gobeasy with the food at this stage you may need him to eat more later.
    Is he a good eater?

    74 now. :D
    He is a very good eater. It's his favorite thing to do.. besides talking. Eat and talk :D but will still give only a teaspoon just in case. Will check him again in 20 min

    I used to "make" my own MC by mixing the LC food and the HC food in equal parts. :cat:

    Ha Ha. Someone on the board gave me that tip after I said the same thing you did about having to go buy MC food.
    And I love math, go figure....

    Great, I'd be tempted to let Jack be and test him in an hour from now.
    What do you think Gill?

    Sorry, I meant 40 minutes from now, which would be about an hour without food influence.

    Agreed, that would take us to +6, is that correct Angela?
    Do you think you could update the numbers on the ss when you get a moment. It's much easier to keep track of what's transpired at a glance, in case anyone else wants to chime in.

    The HC can wear off up to two hours later and that can cause a dip in the numbers, he got a nice bump from the hc, so he may just surf for you, as the cycle progresses and the insulin action wanes it becomes more likely that he will flatten out if you get good duration. The HC may cause the cycle to fizzle out sooner and we may see his numbers rise significantly before amps.

    Time will tell

    Great AM cycle for Jack!
    (It was 6 months before we saw our first green...:arghh:)

    And look how quickly he cleared that bounce!

    Housekeeping tip (how we express 15 min increments)
    15min= .25
    30min= .5
    45min= .75

    So ...
    +4 was 51
    +4.25 was 50
    +4.5 was 74

    Now, some music for the balance of the cycle...

    +7,
    As he is still rising I would with hold food at this stage and see where he is at in an hour , if he is flat or rising at that point, the excitement should be over.
    I'll be around, so please post the number you get, so I know you are OK, otherwise I'll worry.
