Toby has been barely touching his wet food, Fancy Feast pates, for the last couple of months and mostly ate Dr. Elsey's kibble. After another bout of bad diarrhea, vomiting, and lack of appetite this week, I decided to try Tiki Cat wet food with him after seeing it at my local Petco and he's gobbled it up. I started with an Aloha Friends, because of the added pumpkin and he's eaten every last bit that I put down for him in one sitting, which he's never done with any canned food before (or any seafood flavor for that matter). I'm not sure if it's just because it's something new for him and he's not bored with it yet or if it's just better. I'm hoping it's the key to transition him over to completely wet food. I'd rather spend my money on more expensive food he'll eat than cheaper cans of food he'll barely touch.

My question is - Are there any Tiki Cat lines I should avoid or are all of them low/zero carb? I picked up a few listed on Dr. Pierson's food chart to try with Toby, but the After Dark line was not listed on there.

The after dark line is also low carb. I feed the after dark line to my cat in addition to fancy feast

Watch the seafood - due to mercury, etc, try to limit it. Incorporate it into chicken, turkey, etc. otherwise they might give you problems if it'd not fish related. If your cat is a licker, remember you can blend in a small food processor. It's what I do, waiting on my "After Dark" variety packs (2).

PS - the chicken and egg mousse is a HIT!!! Expensive though, so I only got 8 previously.

the best food is the one the cat will eat!
my guys are 19 and 20 and pretty much eat about 80% fishy food. not saying it is great but I pick n choose my battles at this stage.

Oh bless! Yeah my Fena is down to 11 lbs but I think she might be better than that now but I dunno. She seems fuller, fitter, her skin is more "sticky" when I try and give her shots - not as easy as it once was, much better hydration, etc. She's grooming again, running around upstairs and down (stairs!) playing with her brother, etc.

I've ordered Tiki After Dark canned food, variety pack, 2 of them - since I have 2 cats. We'll see! The mousse I only got a 4 pack, grr.
