My Daisy generally tests at around 260-370. This morning, I tested a little earlier than 12 hours and she tested only at 119. She hasn't eaten anything yet. She has been getting 1.5 units twice a day. What should I do? I'm going to call the vet.

    Thank you!

She is eating! The vet says it's OK to give her a half dose if she eats.

Thanks, Janet. It's Lantus. Since I'll be at work all day, I would really worry about shooting. She ate a bit, but I'm not going to shoot.

Eventually with lantus you can shoot those low numbers but since you aren't going to be home and have no data on how she responds at the low numbers, the safest action is to skip. Better too high later than low when you aren't home.

Yes, I agree! I worry about having something happen when I'm not here. Thank you SO much for being there for us!

Glad you got the assistance you needed. Can you please remove the "911" from the post title as that gets everyone's hearts jumping and Daisy is not in any danger. THX.:)
