I have cried more this week than any other. My girl is doing ok. Appy is good. We are just grieving like everyone else for the loss this week. I hold her tighter and kiss her a little more, much to her chagrin. My heart goes out to all those in need of some extra care and love. Head bumps and scritches. And a little tail tug.

Know the feeling about this week. Glad Phoebe is doing well though, even if she is slightly over squeezed.

Glad Miss P is doing well.

Angela, I think you've expressed what do many of us are feeling right now.
My lot have been getting extra cuddles too.

Sending prayers and vines that miss O continues doing well, I'll even risk sending her a belly rub

I just took a close look at Phoebes SS! It's so amazing how she came down with the insulin from such High doses!

Do you think the Adequan helped Phoebes? I was giving it to Ravan for a few months & didn't see improvement so I stopped..
I agree with what you all said about the "Crying" Some days I'm afraid to look at the Forum.I've got 3 kitties all over 16 yrs old & all have medical problems.
Just one day at a time. Right? I have an old ring that i wear, it says "Love Life" & on the inside "Be Brave." :)

It's great that Phoebes is doing so good I hope each day gets better!:D:bighug:

I did not see a notable difference from the adequan for the price. So we stuck with gabapentin and bupe. I think she was far to gone to help her joints. I do think however changing from lantus to levemir in conjunction with some R in the mix helped alot. She was miserable on the lantus for most of a year. I wish I had switched sooner.
Thank you, it's been alot of hard work and alot of sleepless nights, but who needs sleep?? :) right?
I love the ring idea! It's been a rough week for everyone. And yes one day at a time, sometimes it's one minute. I can do just about anything for one minute. Except hold my breath! Thank you for your kind words. I love this FDMB family. The tears and smiles.

Are there any side effects to Adequan? How often is too often to shoot it SubQ? Vet told me every 3 weeks and I am at every 12 days but don't see great improvement. If there are side effects, I will stop it or use it less often. Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of Paul. She just didn't improve enough to be worth the money spent. My brain is dead on the dosing. I know others swear by it. But I think you can give more often than you are.
Phoebe weighs about 12 pounds our dose is .25 cc 2x a week for 4 weeks, then once a week for 4 weeks. That is what I posted before. @jayla-n-Drevon uses it with great success.

I thought I would sneak this in down here instead of a new thread which I don't have the oomph to do.
    @Olive & Paula Happy birthday!
That's all I've got, off to bed for 24 to 36 hours. First time in years I haven't had to poke a cat. Is that :(, :blackeye: or :banghead: ?

I started my boys on adequan when they were 15 and 16... they are now 19 and 20 and move much like a younger cat and we have 4 flights of stairs. To my knowledge (and my vets) there are no adverse effects of adequan. They got it 1x a month after the loading dose but now at this age I give them a shot weekly.
Did you do a loading dose? It is a shot every 4 days for a total of 8 shots and then dosing accordingly but not to exceed a month or a new loading dose will be needed. I have any clients who use it as well...I have never heard of less than a good response. My vet always rounds up--so if the cat is 13# he would round up to 15# then 15x2=30 so the dose is 0.3ml--- exact dosing works but depending on the condition I would dose up then maybe drop it to exact when kitty is feeling relief.
