In Memoriam

I'm not sure who started the tradition here, but on Halloween, when the veil between us and the Bridge is at its thinnest, we take time to celebrate the lives of the kitties who have gone ahead over the past year.

If I have missed anyone from Halloween last year until today, please let me know and my apologies. It's sad work to maintain this list. Our kitties and their caregivers...

Sienne..........Thanks for remembering all of our kitties who left us in the past year. A nice tradition that's apprecaited.

 

Thank you for keeping this list. I know it is not easy. It is sad to see how many we have lost. Sending prayers to those who have lost their furbaby this past year.

 

A nice remembrance, but it's so hard to read all the names on this list year after year.

Thank you for including my sweet Noah....yes, he is dearly missed.....

 

Davey and I lost our own dear Emmeline Pankhurst in August of this year. She was 16 years old, and had developed a tumor on the upper side of her jaw. Once diagnosed, we babied her until she just couldn't go on any longer.

Emmeline was a gorgeous long hair calico with brilliant green eyes. I still miss her every time I have to get out eggs, as she loved her raw egg yolks.

May and June really sucked this year but we squeaked by. Christmas makes me cringe but one of us always finds the strength to put up a tree for the ones we still have.

 

It’s heartbreaking to see so many of our beloved have crossed in just one year. Many hugs and condolences to each of you whose baby has crossed this year.

May they know peace, joy, light, and renewed health as they wait for us at the .

 

There is a place in my heart for all the new members we never got to know. They were so happy to be here and eager to learn, then suddenly gone and we never knew why.

We lost our Regan (civvie, but twin of GA diabetic Rosa) in July to heart disease. Although not a sugarcat, she is sorely missed by us and by the fur family left behind.

This is really sad. 57 cats on this list. It’s hard to believe Frosty’s name is on it. I miss him so much

But it’s also great to know that 57 cats were so loved and so well taken care of by their amazing and dedicated humans. You guys really make a difference in the world.

 

The list is too long this year....and has so many of our legends on it

Old or new, we loved them all and know their families are still aching from their loss.

Thank you for posting this Sienne. With the sadness, I hope we can remember the love each bean showed by being here and letting us get to know their fur family.

Such a long list...in only a year That is heartbreaking...so sad...we all have done everything we can...but those kitties will always hold a special place in the hearts of their beans...

Special thoughts to Myagi - Heidi - she was one of the first beans to talk to me on this board... I miss them both.

 

Thank you for remembering Gizmo. I’m shocked at the long list. But as others have mentioned ... these kitties were so lucky to be loved not only by their families, but by so many extended family members on this board. I’m so glad to have found this place. May we all sense the presence of our special fur babies tonight.

I would also like to add one more kitty, if I may. For those who remember Lucille and Smiffy (I have been in contact with Lucille throughout Smiffy's journey). Smiffy was in remission for some time, but lost her remission earlier this year and started on Lantus in the hopes of reaching a second remission. While she never did reach that remission, despite Lucille's best efforts, Smiffy sadly lost her battle to an unknown illness in September.

 

This is incredibly sad. Too many kitties on that list.

I got the chills, and Halloween will now, for me, mean something totally different. To honor those sweet furbabies and their beans. That is alot of love in those names. May their lights shine on into the night so dark.

I had occasional contact with Heidi still and always hoped she would come back to here but I doubt it now . Tyler & Myagi were brothers in arms.

 

Thank you so much, @Sienne and Gabby (GA) for putting this list together and for honoring Billie I still feel her here with me all the time.

 

So sad to see all the precious babies lost in the past year. Each one was beyond special to his/her beans, and to many others. Your lives mattered, sugar kitties, and we honor all of you, as well as those that went before you. Fly free and know you will never be forgotten.

 

Marie&HerCats Marie lost Rusty, she wasn't here very long.
My "following" list is so full of sad stories and I don't have the heart to remove or sometimes even look at the names.
