    11/22

    First time shooting a number this low. Gave a slightly higher carb food with shot so the drop (even though I know those numbers are basically the same) at 1.5 makes me a wee bit nervous.

    Didn't go to bed until almost 2:30 last night so was hoping to shoot and go back to sleep for a few hours. I think Buddy has other plans for me. :blackeye:

    Nice return after that skipped shot and reduction.
    Good luck with the new dose. :cat:

    Buddy has been lower than I expected. He is coming back up at +6; I have to leave in about 45 minutes. I will retest and leave some extra food, just in case. Would love to let him ride this one out to see what happens but I can't risk it. We have a family lunch at 1:00. :(

    Hope Buddy stays safe while you are out. I would do the same thing and leave out the extra food if it were me.
    Enjoy your lunch :)

    Hey Kelly, I am answering here instead of yesterday's thread. Since he had a NS, then a reduction, and this is the second cycle since the reduction and he still managed to give you a 58 today, I would give him another reduction down to .75 unit especially since you are following SLGL. You can always take him back up if needed. It appears he "snapped" and is working the juice!

    I know. It worries me and I have debated on whether or not to go. If he has dropped on my next reading, I will go late (even though I'm bringing food, LOL). Of all the days for Buddy to decide to visit the lagoon! I think he's just bitter because he gets canned turkey but I get the real thing. ;)

    Crazy. All those weeks in yellow and purple and then, BAM, this. If you see this, do you think I'm okay leaving him (at +6.5) to go to a family dinner IF he hasn't gone back down and I give him and additional serving of Friskies before I leave? @Bobbie And Bubba

    Can you get another test in before you leave to see if the number is hanging the same or dropping again. It is around nadir so the numbers should be starting to climb back up , but to be safe, I would give him a little more food before you leave.

    Oh, definitely. I will do a test right before we leave (which will be +6.5) and I won't leave if has dropped. Honestly, I would just go late if I wasn't bringing food (homemade rolls - can't have T-giving dinner without bread, LOL). Of all the days...

    Good to see Buddy came up a bit so you could enjoy your dinner. Of course he had to stress you first. :cat: Good luck with the reduction.

    Thanks for your advice and support @Bobbie And Bubba @Wendy&Neko @Rosie & Bailey @Dyana!! It is so stressful trying to make what can be a "life or death" decision in such a small window of time. I never dreamed managing his diabetes would be such a rollercoaster ride of emotion and decision making!! I was glad to get home and check on him, even though I felt pretty confident Buddy would be okay. I sure wish I didn't have to leave today because I would love to have let him surf that one out (without the extra food) because I think he would have done okay. Better safe than sorry, though!

    This is only the 2nd day since I started this journey back in April that Buddy has spent the entire day (so far, at least) under 200 and the 1st day that he has had so many hours in that beautiful green. That would NEVER have happened without this group and wonderful support from members like you all!!

    :bighug::bighug::bighug: to all of you!!!!
