If you are frequently finding that you are having to skip shots it may be that the dose is too high. Reducing the dose may make it possible for you to give shots morning and evening and keep insulin in the system for more of the time. This may also level out the numbers somewhat.
Lantus works best when shots are given 12 hourly in order to keep the insulin 'depot' (the insulin store in the body that releases over time) stable and consistent.

Insulin almost always has to be given twice a day. There have been exceptions, but these have tended to be when a cat is almost in remission and just needs a little boost here and there.

Edited to add: We consider a cat to be in remission if they have been in normal numbers for 14 days with no insulin.

    I can't give any lower than 0.5 units - that's a little tiny sliver.

You might be ready for an OJT trail... stop all insulin, still test to see what her numbers do, if they stay in the blues/green for 14 days or more then she's OJT. See what others here think before you do that though. You can look at my spreadsheet to see what Dusty's successful OJT trail looked like.

I'm brand new, almost literally and using ProZinc but my girl Fena has started a downward cycle making me lower her dose - so it might just be that eventually, you'll be free of it. I know the long work day feeling, maybe the next day or two you have off, do a full curve again and see?

Eyeballing .25 is hard I admit but there's tricks, if you need it.

It's private it seems without you giving me permission. Blue just got a 51 for his PMPS. He's such a doll! IMG_20181208_224012.jpg

Beautiful! I can open my spreadsheet but when I go to Google Docs I can't see it... weird... Here's a screen shot. It looks very much like yours.

That is so awesome! My spreadsheet is a little jumpy because I've only had Blue for two weeks, the Humane Society did not do a curve or check BG anything more than haphazardly, and I changed his insulin, but they do look the same! I'll keep.giving him the lowest amount possible when he's high and hope for remission. It really seems like Blue is either 300 or he's in the green.
