    Good morning all!
Lou had a pretty fantastic day yesterday. Greens nearly all day (and the one blue was a 103 and before his insulin kicked in, so I'll still call it a win). These are definitely exciting times, although the higher AMPS this morning bums me out ever so slightly. We'll see how it goes today. He played with his new furry mouse toy three times yesterday, all by himself, and all pretty vigorously. It really is amazing to see him so happy. I've actually never seen him so active in all our years together (even though he does have his moments), so it makes it even more heartwarming to see.

On the bean agenda today, Caleb is having an eye procedure called collagen cross-linking. He has a condition called pellucid marginal degeneration (PMD), which causes his cornea to become thinner, prompting his eye shape to become more cone-shaped instead of rounded. Unfortunately, this condition is progressive. The cross-linking procedure, which Caleb had performed in August on his worse-off right eye, strengthens the cornea to stop any further progression of the disorder. The procedure today will be on his less-effected left eye. The first procedure took only about 30 minutes to perform and Caleb was home within an hour or so after dropping him off. Healing time was pretty minimal, and he slept the rest of the day after the procedure. Friday was better, but then Saturday was pretty painful. So in preparation, Caleb has the next 3 days off to ensure he has plenty of time to heal. I'm not expecting any complications, but I would appreciate you keeping him in your thoughts today. He's actually excited to have an excuse to veg out on the new recliner for the next few days, haha. Men. Gotta love 'em. :p:D

I hope you all have a wonderful day to day and your kitties stay safe out there. Sending vines to Miss P (@Phoebes), Mr. Jones (@Tracey&Jones), and Jamie's Sammie and Andy (@Bellasmom). :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending prayers for Caleb's procedure. It's great to see Lou doing so well. The AMPS number is usually the last to come down due to dawn phenomenon.

Well this is wildly disappointing. It's not like I thought the bouncing would completely disappear after the switch, but I was hopeful that perhaps if he did keep bouncing, they'd be less severe. Boooooo. :arghh:

    Many vines for Caleb’s procedure.

It’s OK to cut Lou a little slack. His body is still learning how to work the Levemir. It’s only day six.

Thank you all for the vines and well wishes! Caleb handled the procedure better off the bounce than the first one. It helped that his left eye is not nearly as effected by the PMD. He's relaxing in his recliner now. I hope Lou can come down tonight, although I'm sure he loved the pokie break today. I hope you all have a wonderful night!

Tell Lou we're still watching over here - he's supposed to level out on Lev (maybe you should tell him???) Just talk to him or about him...I'm sure he's listening to every word...:p

Glad to hear Caleb's procedure went well....amazing how men sorta get more time 'off' if you know what I mean:D...I've come home from outpatient surgery before (anesthesia and all)...and my boss calls - oh let's fix this and that...I can barely think...but there I am sitting in my chair with my laptop - just hours after getting home...ugh :( I should have gone to bed and gotten out of the 'target zone' (that's the laptop and the phone)...N/A = not available...having had surgery at 7 a.m. today...ya know? Better believe when DH has anything done - he's in bed and I'm catering...:facepalm:
