Not a bad start. I hope the bounce isn't too high. He does like to make you work.

Nope, the CIC (cat in charge) issue is one that just keeps giving!

Hope Ravan comes back down today.

I'm still so very sad. Jade seems just ok. She sleeps where he slept and seems to look for him a lot. I was up from 4-6 this morning to hang out with her in the living room. She's never been a solo cat and even tho her and Dexter weren't super cuddly or close, I know she misses him and hope she can adjust and revel in being the center of attention. Thank you for checking in!

JoyBee, I just love your animies and graphics! So cute! They make me laugh out loud! We all need a laugh now and then don't we? Loved the one where the cat is saying 'I urge you to accept me as your leader'....

Ain't it just the truth! I've been saying I've accepted Luci as my 'Queen'...she's definitely the ruler in this household... :) Glad to see Ravan has at least seen the beach and lagoon today...yes, he likes to put you thru your paces...hang in there! :)

Is Jade your only cat now? You might want to consider getting her a companion? Years ago I had just one kitty & later regretted it. I think she was lonely.:(
Two cats aren't much trouble!( and animal welfare has so many needy kitties of all ages!) :)

Sorry to hear you're sad. I have a "Bad" habit of reminiscing about all my kitties that are gone. I decided this year I'm not going to do that any more. I want to be Happy! I want to ENJOY the time I have with my Kitties I now have. They feel it when I'm sad!

    Hope you feel better! :):bighug::bighug::bighug:

    Thanks Luci!
I studied Architectural Design many years ago. I decided to "decorate" my Condo. Maybe put a smile on some faces? I spent too much time crying last year!
    I want to be Happy!
I'm so glad my Gif's made you laugh!! :D

I’m going to hold off on getting another cat ( unless she seems lonely). My heart has a hole from Dexter right now and I’m just not ready.

I'm saving that image for future use. It's too perfect!

I often wonder what I'd do with my time if Ming didn't have FD... probably sleep... go out... do things... :joyful::joyful: Just kidding! I still love him and would do this 1000 times over.

Looks like that's right where he's going again!
He's spending more time in high #'s than low. I know it's bad for his Kidney's because he's leaking urine a LOT!

This does not look good.Something is causing the High bounces. He was getting much better a few weeks ago & now this.

I'm trying so hard to be positive but it's getting difficult! Something is causing these High bounces & he's spending more time in High #'s than low. It's bad for his Kidneys. He's leaking urine a LOT!
I tried to keep him from dropping with food last night but when he drops the food is not stopping it. I've been told to be diligent & pay attention, but it feels no matter what I do it's not helping. Wearing me down!

Ravens numbers don't look that bad. Better than on Lantus. You are doing everything you can do.

Enjoy Raven. He is more than his numbers :cat:

    What is your feeding schedule?

Ravan has been raised on a raw diet all his life. I feed whenever he's hungry. When he got diabetes he went off the raw meat & I ended up giving him FF. For a while it was all he'd eat. Now he eats canned & raw.I've been trying to feed
small amounts during the night so he doesn't drop too low. When he starts to drop "sometimes" it just won't stop even with high carb FF.
He now also has stage 2 Kidney disease.I add binder to the high phosphorus food. When his BG goes up he leaks urine a LOT. I'm more worried about his Kidneys now than the diabetes!

Today he's not interested in eating. I grow organic grass for him & he's been nibbling on it & vomiting. I gave him SEB earlier. This is unusual for him. He's usually a good eater. ( he's not over weight. I'm careful about that I know it can cause more problems.)

Hugs to you Joy, :bighug: it's so hard when there are multiple issues going on.

What if you tried to put him on a feeding schedule and time your test at those times? Bubba can be boosted just by giving him a raw meal. He is that sensitive to food, I can't even say he is carb sensitive, he is food sensitive.

Here's what we do, but you might need to tweak it. I test a 6 :20 AM feed and shoot . His next meal is around +3 and that is when I test him. Then at +6 or+7 he gets another meal and test if I feel it is warranted. Then 6:20 PM and about the same in the PM cycle.

See if timing his meals and test gives you a different result. Just an idea.

You might get better results if you do a scheduled feeding but (as you stated above ^^) Raven is in control - lol, and may not cooperate . Playing with feeding times you might be able to control the drop better and that might make it a more even cycle.

    :bighug::bighug:

Does he eat the high carb (does he like it)? He might not be eating enough to bring him up. If he is you might try adding a drop or two of honey to his regular food and see what that result is. If that doesn't work try the honey with the high carb.

I am just throwing out some suggestions. Sometimes it just help a to talk it out. Others might have suggestions too,
    :bighug:

Going to send you a PM.

Actually that's kinda what I'm doing. I test at 9:30 pm & give food Then at +2 if he's dropping I give a little higher Carb food. If He's going up I offer him some raw. So I guess I am following a schedule.
I don't know what's up today but he's just not hungry. He seems OK was even playing earlier. But I've offered many different foods & he doesn't want to eat. His sister peggy Sue is off her food too!

Ravan's usually a GOOD eater. I hope he eats tonight at shot time!

Thanks guys! It does help to hear from you both! It gets kinda lonely sometimes :):bighug:

I do what @Bobbie And Bubba and @LizzieInTexas said. Scooter gets a snack every 2 hrs through +6, then one more at +7. I usually test before any snacks that I think he needs it.

Doing well! Scooter wasn’t eating great, but I got new food from Chewy today and he seems to really like it. I guess he did just need a change. Thanks for asking!

I hope all the suggestions on a feeding schedule can help Ravan stay in safer numbers and avoid the roller coaster he's been on. It's worth a try, I think. Problem is finding out if Ravan will agree to it.
