RECALL HILLS SCIENCE DIET AND RX FOOD

Just came out. Right now it's for dog food.

Thank you very much this is really helpful and important information even if is dog food, I have 2 dogs

 

I was told it's too much vitamin D. Different search words got me into different Hill's sights and some made no mention of a recall, very annoying.

Apparently cats have been affected now (a few fatalities) but not listed. Got a notice yesterday a FB friend's dog died from it. Hills offered them $5 coupon when they get a new dog.

Apparently some ingredients or food itself is sourced from China. Hills has no quality control over what is coming in.

 

If that's true, it's absolutely disgusting and unforgivable

 

This friend has gotten a lawyer and the story (don't know if actual friend) has been on the news.

 

My vet has signs up in their office, and has removed all their food from the shelves.

 

I got a call after I left the vet from a tech who was "pretty sure" it would be okay. Should I call them back if the dog is "pretty dead"? I gave her the lot number and expected a simple yes/no answer.
As for Hills.... How is not cheaper to make pet food in North America? I understand steel, cars, TV's etc. but that's beyond sad. Hey Donald!
