Luci must have decided that yesterday was her day off too - never got near the lagoon - probably just as well since DH wasn't having a very good day. He's having a lot of 'soreness' - he says with his knee...and early this morning said it was too much pain so he took a pain pill and went back to bed (apparently he'd been up for a while)...he really has a lot of pain and difficulty sleeping...night time is the worst time apparently with this knee replacement! And we're nearing the one month mark already - I'm kinda disappointed about that but everyone heals at their own rate. Hopefully this next month of healing will be better.

As for me, I had a great time shopping and lunching with my sister in laws! The weather was glorious - sunny and in the mid 70's - so not too hot - thankfully! It didn't seem overly crowded and I made a few purchases :) First store we went into I saw the cute kitties! There are three of them - but I only took pics of two - the other one sauntered off - all of them were 'done up' for the day and were prancing about. Adorbs! Cute store too...but oh so pricey! Here are a couple of pics of wearable art :)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone - sending thoughts and prayers to all those in need here in LB&L Land.:bighug:

Wind In the Willows is a pretty fancy store - so I guess they have to be to support three cats in the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed...they're pretty adorbs though...friendly and waltzing around for everyone who comes in to admire. Guess you'd better not be allergic to cats if you're going to be buying anything in there, huh?

I hate that he's in this much pain - still - at this point. I really thought it would be a lot better by now :( Thank you for your thoughts.

Is he still using ice packs and elevating his leg? Taking anti inflammatory meds? And just FYI, he could also get a nerve block if dr would do it to relieve pain if it’s that bad

He refused the ice yesterday (I suggested it!)...I don't think he's on an anti-inflammatory med...I can mention it to him when he gets up about that and the nerve block...thank you :)

They were cuties! Those sweaters are out in the art show - they're pretty wild...but I kinda love 'em :) One of a kind that's for sure. Nice to look at all the ideas people have...

It always amazes me when shop cats are so well behaved and just calmly walk around. I can only imagine what my wild kits would do with all of those fun displays and things to play with, climb on, and scratch.

And I am sorry that your DH is still in so much pain. My dad had a hip replacement about three years ago. He had a lot of complications initially and ended up spending about 10 days in the hospital, followed by months and months of physical therapy. It was a miserable experience and he swore that he would never get his other hip done. But we just talked about when I was in Germany and he is thinking about having the second surgery. For as much as he hated the recovery, he had to admit that it was all worth it eventually. It took him a while to get there, but he is back to taking long walks, going on bike rides, doing yard work, etc. Fingers crossed that your DH will get a little better each day.

I swear by the Advil Liquid Gels. They work! And work fast.

@Sue and Luci has DH had a follow up with surgeon? I have two co-workers and my SIL that have all had knee replacements and, while had discomfort after a month, didn't have sever pain like it seems he is having. Is he doing PT?

Constant, unrelenting chronic pain is horrible.

Yes, he has had his first postop with the surgeon. They told him he was doing terrific! PT says the pain is 'expected'...he seems to be feeling better now! Thank goodness for good pain pill! He goes 2 or 3 times a week for PT- I think the last one is what's giving him so much trouble this weekend...she warned him he would be 'sore'...an understatement if you ask me.

I agree...although it's a battle...it's got to be better than it was before - his knee pain was preventing him from walking...and it was getting worse and worse. This is not great - but improvements are surely better than getting steadily worse :)

I know what you mean about those cats - but they've been in there for years! Luci would be in the windows tearing out the displays and ripping around the store...she's way too much of a wild child to have ever been suitable for such a life as those store cats...one was named Tinkerbell! They all had cute names and lots of admiring visitors! The first time I ever saw one she was laying on a shelf - I thought it was STUFFED!!! And OMG it moved!! Nor did I realize there were THREE of them! They look completely alike - but this time one of them had a 'lion' cut...you could tell that one from the others - shoulda got a pic of him but he was moving away from me...they're all pretty relaxed and seem to enjoy their surroundings in that tony store :)

What a neat store! I wish there were animals in all stores, it would make shopping so much fun. Imagine doing your groceries with a chill cat in your basket? !!!

My SIL was in constant pain. Docs finally said she needed hip replacement surgery but she was carrying too much weight. They wanted her to lose 60#'s. Very difficult to do when you can't move due to pain. She did water aerobics and lost 40#'s and they finally did the surgery. Three years go by, still constant pain. Docs want her to lose more weight. She (and my brother) sought out another doc - new doc says your issue is, and always has been, your knees. :banghead: She had both replaced last year. She has lost at least 60#'s since and is finally pain free!

Thank goodness they finally found the real problem! Too bad she had a hip replacement unnecessarily! Hope that wasn't completely the situation...sometimes they just don't know. :(

I don't think it was completely unnecessary but the fact that she had the very same pains after and the knee surgeries resolved it sure makes you wonder. And the 2nd doc saying it was her knees all along... She will be 68 this year. It is amazing the weight loss, it is just melting away. She says she isn't "working out" just more active with her kids and grandkids. I am so happy for her.
