I just wanted to throw this out there. I've seen lots of people post the same advice someone else has given in a condo. I think sometimes people don't have time to read what others have written and want to make sure the advice is given so they post. Don't take it personally. I also think sometimes they just post the same thing to back up what others have posted, meaning a second person giving the advice. :bighug::bighug:

I so agree with you Carla. And to add, I always felt more confident (in my own thought processes) when a long term, much more experienced contributor would (or does) give the same advise.

@JoyBee&Ravan don't take it as a negative, take it as a compliment :bighug::bighug:

Your comments are appreciated ! You said some people don't have the time to read what the previous person wrote. Isn't my time just as valuable? Not to be acknowledged is very discouraging.
I've been told I wasn't compassionate & I need to "walk in their shoes" because I responded to someone, it was clear they didn't want my advice. ( I had spent hours looking up info & giving encouragement)
If I didn't tell people to click "Like" to let me know they read it I wouldn't get "any" response :( Rarely do I even get a Thank You! This happens frequently.

This forum is my first time on social media. I don't even own a cell phone. So it's not only been a learning experience with Diabetes but with communicating on a forum. (I didn't even know what a spreadsheet was)
My work experience has not been in an office. Ask me about Plumbing or electrical work & I can help.

I keep telling myself to stop trying to advise people but when I see someone post for help I remember how it was when I started & I want to help them.

When my boys were young they told me I was mean,I responded, " being a mother is not a popularity contest, life is hard, deal with it " I guess it's called tough Love!:) (they laugh about it now)

I sincerely want to help but I don't think my kind of attitude is suited to what people want to hear. Now days they don't want to hear the truth, & I can't handle "bullshit".:p

Peggy Sue is Hanging in there. I've started giving her CBD OIL every day & it's getting her to eat a bit more. It also makes her feel better.( I am looking for a Miracle, as we all are ):D
It's still cold here but I've been letting them all go outside with me. It's funny. I'm sitting there with my winter hat & coat on & they are just Happy to be outside even for only 15 minutes!
    Thank you for asking!:bighug:

I don't do social media. This is the only forum I post on. I've learned that a lot of people don't respond to individual posts and don't say thank you. I still try to help anyway because I want to help others I just don't take it personally. I've just had to learn that is how things are. I'm still getting used to the Like button.

There are some people who have lost their cats that still come here to help out. They don't post regularly and scan subject lines looking for people who need help. They may only have a limited time to post and not have time to read every post. I appreciate that they come and still help out, but understand they may not have time to read everything like those of us who post regularly.

I hope you will keep posting and offering support and advice to others. I appreciate that you take time to do that. :bighug::bighug:

I wanted to add that I appreciate what you do! Last time you helped me was in yesterday's post. ( http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...ps-175-4-5-301-8-252-pmps-329-4-5-274.212583/) I did a "like" on your advice and posted back 2 comments and 1 question for you in that post. I'm not familiar with forums, this is the first one I'm on; just hope you got alerts to let you know that I read and liked the information you took the time to share with me! :bighug:

Interesting comments. Here's yet another perspective:

I'm one of those who *usually* doesn't read all the advice offered by others in a thread. It's a technique often used by the most experienced of those offering advice. One wants to assess the circumstances and the data without being unduly influenced by another's comments. It's just one method of analyzing a given situation which "The Wise Ones" taught us many moons ago.

I have nothing against the other posters. I simply offer my suggestions and/or advice to the person seeking help. For me, it's not about other posters in the thread. It's all about the original poster.

    Just my 2 cents...

I guess I don't want to "Waste my time" repeating what someone else just said.:)
