Vet suggested lysine for Biscuits' eyes. Dark scabby crusts in corners. Vet says it's viral and chronic and to try lysine.
I read about how cats can't synthesize vitamin d from sunlight like we do,and it helps with insulin regulation among other things

I use it whenever any of my cats get a cold. I have used both the powder and pill form . If you use the pills use a pill crusher to grind it up if you have more than one cat, give it to all of them until none of them have any symptoms. Viral infections are contagious and by putting everyone on it, reduce the chance that it will spread.

It also helps when you have a cold too.;)

I have used different brands and they all seem to work well. You will find it in the vitamin section of the store. The only place I have found the powder version is at health supplements stores like Vitamin Shoppe. Unless you have a lot of cats, the pill version is cheaper. It is used to build up the immune system so whenever any of my cats are sick, I give it to them.

I like l-lysine, in powder form, from a company called NOW. Available from amazon or chewy. I like the powder so I don’t have to crush or open the pills or capsules.

I administer the Now brand L-Lysine powder (1lb container) at about 250 mg/day but double that for cats having symptoms.
