5/28 Good Morning L, B, & L ~ I am so glad that I took Bubba to the vet on Tuesday and had set up his dental for Tuesday. He has another absorption lesion so he will be losing at least one tooth on Tuesday! Fingers crossed that he stays comfortable between now and then.... Yesterday afternoon I had to pry a baby bunny out of the death grip jaws of Bubba. Unfortunately, it was dead.....ugh. He was quite mad at me and hissed and carried on for about an hour. Then, a 1/2 hour later.... we had to take cover in the basement around 3pm as there were tornados in our area! It was just when Mom's Occupational Therapist arrived. Thank God I had her help to get Mom downstairs and back up again when it was safe. So Mom got to do the stairs as part of her therapy. Then, again at 5pm we had to go down to the basement. Bubba didn't like his territory being invaded. Lots of trees branches down, but we were lucky as we didn't lose power like the next town over did. Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need. ETA: Where is @Sue and Luci ? I haven't seen them in a while.
How scary with the tornadoes. I'm glad you were all safe. I'm glad you can get Bubba's dental done so quickly. Poor baby bunny.
Thank goodness you guys are safe, we've been seeing the results of the tornados on TV and it is so awful to see that destruction and loss of life. Lovely start for Bubba, hope he stays safe for you. Bubba leave those baby bunnies alone.. you little rascal.
Poor you, what a night; those tornados are terrible, a good thing you're safe . Too bad you were too late for the baby bunny, bad little Bubba had fun hunting !!!
So happy everyone was safe, (well, except the bunny ) those tornadoes were pretty horrible, it was on the news. Fingers crossed that Bubba's tooth doesn't cause any problems until he gets to the vet. Have a wonderful day Bobbie!
So glad your all safe. Never had all these storm warnings like we've been getting this year. All my cats IDs are back on just in case. Did you see Ohioans were complaining about the Bachelorette show being interrupted? The weatherman went into a rant on air about it.
Good idea with the ID's on. Bubba is chipped, Forrest isn't as he doesn't go to far from the house. I did not see that Ohio was upset with the interruption of the Bachelorette, ey, yi, yi........
It's not they are chipped or not. With storms doing damage and tornados, they can get blown away or because of the weather they just run because they are scared. The weatherman apologized on the late news for his rant.
Looking at Bubba's SS. I'm trying to understand what triggered the reductions for Bubba? I don't see any big drops? He's been on 1 drop for nearly 2 months. Why isn't he on a remission trial? I thought if he's under 120 for 2 weeks you stop the insulin & see what happens? I hope everything goes well for his dental. Peggy Sue has an infection in a back molar. She's lost a lot of weight. I'm afraid to have her under anesthesia! To go to a specialists & have an anesthesiologist present costs over $2,000, with the lab work. I don't know what to do! It makes me laugh that people even watch the "Bachelorette" I think it's all phoney, scripted. It reminds me of that goofy show with Jerry Springer! I don't understand how anyone can believe that stuff is real! ( no wonder we have Trump as President!) Opps! now I'll have some people mad at me!
Good question about the OTJ trail. He could have been on trial by now , but because this is his 4th time, I am keeping him on insulin as long as he’s tolerating it to give those beta cells ever chance to heal. And now in retrospect with his bad tooth, I’m glad I kept him on it. After the dental and healing and if his numbers stay good I’ll try a trial. Shhh don’t tell Bubba. Here’s what my vet practice just started, the night before his dental I will give him 0.5 ml of Gabapentin and then again on the morning of. It will help to sedate him and take the anxiety edge off AND the vet can use less anesthesia. Maybe talk to your vet about that. They do give different anesthesia and less to the Senior cats. A tooth ache is very painful and they stop eating. It’s something to think about. And you’re right about the bachelorette being scripted. My former boss is best friends with one of the writers for the show.
Thanks Bobbie. I'll ask my vet about the Gaba. Is the Gaba in a liquid? Can I order it or do I need a prescription? Peggy Sue has been eating good Even chewing her Raw meat ( she's still not gaining any weight back?) I can only attribute it to the CBD Oil! I just read that Gaba should be used "Cautiously" in animals with Kidney Disease. Ravan is doing good with his stage 2 Kidney disease I won't take any chances the Gaba might change that!
Yes, it's a liquid to be squirted into the cheek like bupe. ETA: I would imagine it's a RX since it has sedative effects, but not sure.
Glad you guys are all ok! We've been hearing about all the tornados and I worry about my friends on the board.
Hi, Willow's on gabapentin tablets twice daily for neuropathic pain, really seems to help. Easily crushed to powder and add to food.
Just catching up. Very happy to hear that you all were safe in the tornado. Scary, indeed. I'll be thinking of Bubba on Tuesday when he goes for his dental. The kitty toofs fairy will bring him something nice, for sure. I myself will be "enjoying" a root canal on Tuesday. I hope the tooth fairy doesn't visit me! I need that tooth! Hugs and scritches,
Ha! Does enjoy and root canal belong in the same sentence?? I hope it’s a savable tooth! I’ll be at a new dentist on Tuesday as well getting a cleaning and check up. I’ll think of you
Nice to see you, too, Bobbie! I think of all of you so frequently! We are hanging in there. I'm trying to straighten out some of my own health problems...getting there!...but our Tiny Solè is doing great!!! XOXO MUCH love to you and the FDMB family!
