Boris had a beautifully flat day yesterday in the 200s... I think he is happy we are home! I removed dry food from his diet with the first feeding after we got back on Thursday night, and he doesn't seem to miss it at all. Out of curiosity I weighed him this morning and he's up 2 lbs to 14.4 lbs! I was going to try and replace the dry with another food, but I think I'll just stick with a can of wet food each day for now and monitor his weight - he can stand to lose a couple of lbs.

We are planning to go to the Rattlesnake Roundup today - I've never been, but it's supposed to be great fun! We won't get a +6, but I'll try to get a BG before we leave, which should be a +3 or +4. Waiting for the BG drop from no more dry food, and hoping it has a good effect.

    Happy Saturday!

If it were me, I'd be sure to leave some food out for him while you're gone. You've got him back on a LC diet and you bumped his dose back up. Having food available should his numbers drop is a reasonable safety measure.

We use a timed feeder, so he has food available every 6 hours. And we'll definitely check him before we leave!

    Just a thought...

If you feed at pre-shot times, then feeding at +6, that could be a long wait with numbers dropping. If your feeder has at least 2 food bins, you could feed Boris at +3 and +6 or as late at +8. The effects of insulin begins to wane after nadir.

I hope Boris slid down and surfed safely for you today.

Boris’s PMPS is down to 184... do I need to worry about him bottoming our tonight? He’s 24 hours no dry food!

You should get a +1 and a +2 and go from there. If he's dropping, you'll want to feed some to slow the drop.

+1.5 was 209, so it seems like he's leveling out. I gave him some tuna, which should help keep him level I think.
