Fingers crossed....I bumped Zoe to 6 units last evening after all the chaos of the vet visit and my very possible fur shot yesterday morning. I immediately started seeing yellow! giving me hope progress is being made. Because her vet visit was about the time of her pm shot, she ended up not getting her insulin until 9:30 pm and then I had no choice but to dose her this morning at 8 which technically too early but I had to go to work. Plus I had to leave her without a check several hours later. She is fine tonight. I did worry last night and got up and during the night fearing she might drop too fast since she dropped 100 points at +2. I am just hopeful that this may start things moving int he right direction.

Marje, I am sure I didnt do the new thread right, but as for your answer about the testing, I actually just forgot to bring all that up. I was so thankful her vet last night was listening to me. ( I think they realized how mad the other vet had made me). I will address it soon if this new yellow in the ss doesnt continue to progress. I am enouragedby her response to the increase to 6 units...

Good to see you are getting a little sunshine into that spreadsheet. :) Shooting early can also act a bit like a dose increase, so you could be seeing some impact from that too. Paws crossed Zoe hangs onto those yellows.

In your last post, you were worried about using the vial vs. pens and whether the pens were full strength. Zoe got up to 6 units on Vetsulin without much action and we use the dose of the previous insulin as a starting point for starting Lantus, so it's not surprising you've gotten to 6 units of Lantus as well.

Here is the link to your previous thread, for continuity: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...y-i-had-a-bad-experience-with-the-vet.215699/

Yes, each day start a new thread with the date, cat's name and AMPS number.....as the day goes on, you can edit the subject line to add new test data (doing it this way makes it easier for people to scan the forum and help those who might be going too low first)

In the body of your post, you put the link to the prior day's thread so people can quickly go back and see what's been going on and what advice you've been given recently.

Don't worry about doing it "wrong"....we all had to learn! It can be really helpful to look at other people's threads too

I believe it was Marje who commented on the new thread. This post has some guidelines that help make it easier for you, and people helping you, to keep info together.

What a relief you’re feeling a better vibe from the new vet! Good luck with the increase :)

This forum is definitely different from main health but it doesn’t take long before you’re totally used to it :D
