From 3 nights of hypo to this giant swing! Please look at Tucker's SS for the big picture but a recap: After a dangerous night, we skipped his insulin yesterday morning. After yesterday's day time blood tests showed lower average numbers than they had been (compared to the two previous days of testing), a reduced dose of 0.5 was given last night. His numbers climbed higher and higher over night. Our vet advises us to go with 1.25 units now (Friday morning here in Australia), and retest every 2 hours to track his BG today. Now the good news : We see no signs of the hypos in Tucker. The blood test results from the vet have all come back perfect so far. He is bright eyed, cold nosed and his usual hungry self. He trills his hello's when he enters the room and has been chasing Daisy up the hallway, then she is chasing him back down the hallway since 4am...'love' wood floors...sounds like a heard of elephants! They each ate a tin of FF Classic and a large chicken neck for breakfast ( he got a side of 1.25 units of Lantus) and are currently bathing each other. Bless ❤️ Thank you for your advice and encouragement over the last several days. It's comforting to know you are out there and care about this little naughty boy in Southern Australia.
Oh, Tucker's not really naughty Mom, just very high spirited. He's full of life, vim and vigor. Very special puddy.
YEESH!! Tucker is so ‘all or nothing’ get a grip Tucker!! I’m just so glad he’s ok! I love his back story and the picture you shared of him. He truly has gained a fan club around here! Bring it down safely and slowly Tucker. No need for free falling today
+5 update : His bounce has come down a bit, in Australia terms from a 25 to a 19. Still crazy high after being at a 1/2 but moving in the right direction. He's currently enjoying being the middle of a rag doll sandwich, on a thick mink blanket on this cold winter day
Nice report on Tucker this morning - I always forget you're in the middle of winter there! We have friends in Australia and NZ - all enjoying those cool winter days - right It'll be Spring before ya know it... and we'll send you all this hot air from the northern hemisphere Tucker sounds like Luci (when we're in Florida we don't have stairs and we have wood floors)...she loves to hear herself gallop I think and runs back and forth - not so much here in Michigan - although we have wood floors she can't get the speed up that she likes because of the stairs. Have a great day Patty and enjoy your kittiehs
Beautiful pictures, lovely kitties! You must be so relieved, his blood tests are good and he's back to his happy life! Tucker you're a winner !!!
Hi Patty - Theresa and I are relieved to hear that Tucker does not have permanent damage from those hypos. He is one lucky kitteh, and staying plenty clean too. Your kittehs all look so marvelous. Attaching some 95 degree weather with this note to keep everyone warm down undah.
