    Hi everybody,
I've been making The Recipe for over a year and a half now, my Frazzle has been non-diabetic since after just a couple of months of being on the food & all has been going great until recently. The last couple of batches I've made have a strange smell to it, which I can best compare to salty seaweed. I don't think the food is bad mind you, but the fragrance is a bit disconcerting. I'm EXTREMELY careful about making sure the chicken/livers have kept cold until I start prepping, & that proper refrigeration is maintained after cooking. Since we have 10 cats I just make it for everybody, which has me making about 40 pounds a week. Obviously I appropriately increase the amount of ingredients to go w/ the amount of chicken, but I'm wondering if maybe the iodized salt amount is too high & should be decreased, or the amount of liver? I just don't know! Has anyone else run into this issue or otherwise have any pearls of wisdom to share? The cats do eat it, although not exactly voraciously. Of the bunch there's only 1 cat who I have to bribe to eat it by adding a little (grain free) dry food (yes, I know, the bane dry food...but it's a high quality & is also the staple of my hedgehogs diet). Anyone have any ideas? Thank you in advance! :)

Anything new besides the chicken, liver? Are the supplements out of the same bottles/containers you used before, or did you open up a new container of something? I use Dr. Lisa's recipe also, and I sometimes notice a big difference in the smells of the vitamins or supplements from old to new, even though they are they same brand and the only difference is the lot numbers.

No, not a thing is different or changed. I found it very interesting about the difference in smells of old/new vitamins & such. I'll have to take note of this! BTW, your little cat is so pretty! :)

    Katie says thank you!
If no new supplements, it has to be the chicken or liver I would assume. Do you have anymore chicken or liver frozen you purchased at the same time, or did you use it all? If you still have some, when you thaw it, give it a good whiff.
I used to buy my chicken at whole foods, but had to stop because the chicken from there smelled weird, almost perfumey or something. I thought maybe it was whatever they used to clean the coolers are something was seeping in the packages. It happened a few times so I had to find somewhere else to buy the meat.
