My baby was just diagnosed and put on Vetsulin almost 2 weeks ago. She is high anxiety and now that she's feeling better, she is giving us a lot of trouble with her shots. I read that changing from the 29 gauge, which we have now, to the 31 g could help, but my vet refuses to write a prescription. Any suggestions on how to get the smaller gauge needles? I think we are both starting to have anxiety attacks every meal time.

it may depend on which state you are in, there are different laws in different states regarding how many syringes can be sold without a prescription

this link may be helpful in finding out if you need one: https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/policy/RetailSaleOfSyringes.htm

there also may be a law in various jurisdictions stating how many you may purchase; some limit purchases to 10 syringes

Of course I'm in the ONE state where there is a law prohibiting the sale w/o prescription, TN. A neighboring state doesn't have a law against it, but I wonder if they would sell to non-residents??

Thank you very much for the link!

I can ship them via amazon or wherever to my house. Maybe a member would help you from another nearby state? I’m from Oregon.

May I ask what reason your vet gives for not writing you a prescription for a smaller needle? He/she should have your kitty's comfort and best interests at heart.
