Hi Thank you and GOD she does not have any Ulcers BUT Dr. Pickering told me that it could be her Eye Pressures from the Glaucoma:( Do you have any suggestions as to how I can always be successful in getting her drops in?? I remember you telling me you had a dog with glaucoma. Any help would be great Also,I am soo not OK!! All of the stress from the STUPID INSPECTIONS and worrying about my babies takes a toll I know you understand as would other members here:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Do you mean successful, as in literally getting the drops in her eyes, or the timing/remembering to get them in as often as recommended?
Just want to be sure what you mean, but with my dog, it was 4x a day with some drops, and twice a day with others. (That was almost 20 years ago - sweet little red Cocker Spaniel, Maddie.) She had 3-4 different drops to use. I also took my pup to the animal ophthalmology clinic to have her eye pressures checked, every three months or so.

I do better (better, but never great;)) with stress when it does not involve my cats or dog!! Understood!
Calming vines to you right now dear Pamela :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Does Amethyst fight you putting the drops in or do you have a hard time seeing to get them in?

I'm so glad it's not a corneal ulcer.

I'm betting you never thought you'd be able to test or give insulin shots! You will master giving eye drops, too.

Can you distract her with a treat? Maybe a bite of tuna?

I hope you find a solution :bighug:

I had to give my pup eye drops, for a few months, at one point we were up to 10 drops a day in each eye. I always thought it would be like we do to ourselves, you know we pull our bottom eyelid down, and drop the drop in.? But I found it was easier to get the drop in consistently by lifting the upper eyelid and then dropping the drop in.

I would also switch sides...right eye, hold head with left hand from the right side, lift eye lid with thumb, and hold dropper with the right hand, squeeze drop. Then switch on the left eye, hold from the left side with my right hand, hold dropper in left hand. It did take a bit of experimentation on what worked, in the beginning I missed a lot! I always gave treats afterward. If I recall correctly, those glaucoma eye drops can sting a little.
