Will you be home to monitor? Do you have supplies for hypo or falling numbers? Can you stall (no food) and test again in 20 minutes? To see if he's rising or falling?

I'm sorry I can't stay to help you. It's a great number for 'shoot low to stay low'...but you'll need to be able to monitor this morning.

If you shot, please get a +1 and +2 (or sooner).

It's probably a good idea to skip since he's still dropping. You may need to watch for a little while to make sure he comes back up because of the depot.

@carfurby Don't know if anyone is on to help think this through, but my PMPS is 84. My vet does not want me to shoot. I did not shoot this AM. I could test tonight, but wonder if I should continue to skip or dose or give a reduced dose?

I will wait 20 min and test again.

Can you stay up tonight and test as late as you need to? Do you have plenty of supplies? There's a chance he could go up tonight because of the skipped shot this morning. Today's numbers are most likely from the depot.

But should I give a full dose? This is like the last time he went off - the low numbers - I don't want to risk a hypo, though. I have supplies but cannot monitor all night.

I think that will take you to his normal nadir. You can shoot his full dose and feed him some higher carb food for dinner or shoot a reduced dose (1.25 or 1.0) units and feed normally.

If you feed HC food do his numbers usually come up pretty quickly?

You should be okay to shoot. It's up to you how comfortable you are if you shoot the full dose or a reduced dose. Either way make sure you get a +1 and a +2.

    I did a 1.25 (instead of full 1.5) and will test +1 and +2
thanks so much for the help. I didn't want to skip the dose, but felt what he was getting was going to push him too much into the low greens.

And please remember that with the skipped shot and reduced dose, your cycle count starts over again.
