Maggie Manx is having a good Caturday and all P's in place today. I had a hard time getting a drop and it took about 3-4 pokes to get a sizeable drop and two wasted strips, ouch! One thing bad about the animal meter is that it takes a decent size drop or can cause a misread if drop is not large enough. The first time i got a 164 bg with a smidgeon of a drop. The next time with the right size drop was 144, which was more like it as she eats overnight. I didn't get any checks last night, :YMSIGH: but I had a feeling she would be alright as I had a bubble and probably didn't get a full half unit in her. Her ear needed a break, but turned out we both had a break! For some reason the acupuncture I had yesterday to help alleviate the cervical spine arthritis caused more pain overnight, and I just could not get my act together to get up and do pokes. It was off and on trying to sleep with an ice pak. I have an appt. with a Neurologist February 17, so I'll hang on until then. I'll do better today. Thank goodness Maggie is doing so well. Have a good Caturday everyone! Now back to some :coffee: :coffee: and visit condos,

Nice AMPS MMM! Maggie Manx Meter! I hope you will feel better today Ann....
Isn't that weird that you would have more pain after the treatment? Does that happen a lot?
Well, I hope you feel better soon.... ((Ann))

    Hi Ann -

So Maggie's back too, eh? Glad to read such a nice Saturday report.

I'm sticking with the Alpha Trak this round...though I did buy the One Touch strips, but ended up returning. It just boils down to comfort and all of his other numbers are in Alpha Trak. I just made a huge order for strips via Amazon...interestingly, they were $1 cheaper than the One Touch and had free shipping. I know One Touch is one of the more expensive of strips.

Re: pain after acupuncture...I had the same experience once or twice. Never understood why either - would also become really sore in one or two needle spots - usually the spots that bothered me during acupuncture. I hope it resolves itself soon so you can find some relief!

Sending hugs. I'm sorry you are in pain today. I'm scared of accupuncture making my neck/nerve worse. I'm waiting for a formal diagnosis before I risk it.

Maggie is looking amazing. Hope your neck mellows out today.

Thanks Pat. It has been tempting to live up to Maggie Manx Meter and pull that Relion out, but I'm resisting - so far, ha, ha! Yes, this is the 2nd time it's happened with the acupuncture. I am going to call and ask why so!

Thanks Nicole & Baby. she is giving me healing, flat numbers. If she gets into the 80's or below 70, I've never caught it. If she got below 70 and ate, I'm wondering if food would bring it back up to normal ranges.

Ni Michelle & Mannie. I like when Maggie stays in the low blues; green would be nice, too. Oh boy, Maggie is all excited about getting a backpack from Mannie for the hike.

Hi Amy and Six. I'm sticking with the AT for same reasons as you, so much data. I'm glad to hear it doesn't only happen to me with the acupuncture. If I find the reason, I'll let you know. It's so nice to see you although not for the reason but still nice.

Hi Karrie and Maverick. Thanks and the needles do hurt some people, but I hardly feel them going in so they are so light and it's usually such a pleasant experience. I Hope you soon get a diagnosis.

What a nice day for Maggie. I'm so sorry about your arthritis and I hope the neuro can make some suggestions and help you with the pain. My mom finally had to go to a pain mgmt specialist....which your neuro may also be??? Hope you have a wonderful, pain free evening.

Well, Maggie likes her nickname, California surfin girl, as she just surfed along today, no worries, but I'm not so sure what she will do the pm cycle, so I'll be ready. Celia gave her the nickname. She rarely bounces!

Thanks Ella & Rusty for stopping by our condo. Maggie said to thank Rusty for the hike today with Mannie and all the kitties

Hi Celia & Binkster, hey, that's a good idea to take a road trip to Cali. Maggie and I love company. But no driving for the Binkster until he gets his training wheels!

Thanks Margorie & Gracie, I'm glad your Mom is getting some good pain management help. Yes, I await for the neurosurgeon visit to see what he suggests. I have questions ready and have studied the MRI using the Medline dictionary and other good websites.
