    Good Friday Morning, Everyone. TGIF!!

Is it snowing? Yep! Is the temperature 31? Yep! Is snow expected all day? Yep! (but not much accumulation). Is Rusty asleep in his basket by the radiator? (he sure is!). The latest weather report says that we will get sunshine tomorrow, but that highs will still be only in the 30s. Winter is hanging in there!

Rusty had a good night. All of his nighttime food was finished this morning, but I don't know when he ate it. He was in the hall when the "ducks" sounded their alarm, so I think he probably ate pretty close to when we got up. The important thing is that he ate, so I don't care too much that AMPS might be influenced by a food spike. We had a good test and shot. He's eaten about half of his breakfast so far (combination platter of Wellness Turkey and FF T&G).

Today looks like another mostly indoor day. Yesterday we had a good walk and I had a brief bike ride in the afternoon. Tonight we are going to a showing of paddling films. We are really looking forward to that. One of them is about the recently designated "Northern Forest Canoe Trail", which stretches from the Adirondacks (NY) to Maine, with sections in Vermont, Quebec, and New Hampshire. It is about 750 miles long and includes 55 miles of portages. Several of our friends have done some of the non-Adirondack sections of it (all of us here have done all of the Adirondack sections). Here's a link for those interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Forest_Canoe_Trail

Wishing you all a good day and sending healing vines to Tena's Sid and to all kitties not feeling well,

    Ella & Rusty

Nice to see Rusty doing so well!!

I cannot believe your weather!! We had temperatures almost reach 100 last week, then went down to a high of 75 yesterday, and now are supposed to get back up to 90 by the beginning of next week. I am NOT ready for the hot weather yet, but then again, I wouldn't want snow either!!

    Hope you're doing well!!

I'm so happy to see and hear that Rusty is doing so well. He's such a lucky guy!!!

I can't believe it's still snowing in almost May!!! I'm glad you got out yesterday and the film sounds fun.

I'm going to try and get a photo of the calipers and syringes and post them on our condo today. My "zero" is where the plunger hits the top of the syringe when it is pressed in all the way. On the MJs, there is a clear mark all the way around the syringe right under that triangular area. That's where I measure from and then to the top of the plunger when the dose is drawn. It's a pain but I've realized with the calipers, how ridiculously inaccurate these syringes are.

    Have a great day.

Auntie Ellabean...YOU GOT DUCKS??? Me, Tobes, I loves ducks!!!! I loves to chase them in my videos! But you gots real ones?????

Nice start to the day and it sounds like you have your snow survival plan well in hand. Especially Rusty. The canoe trail sounds wonderful. Someday the whole thing?

    Green!
Note to Liz & Anne: Mr. Greenie  is posted.

Note to Tobey: The "ducks" reside in my phone. Sorry to disappoint!

At +5.5 Rusty was most insistent with his meows. After his green number, he gobbled his lunch. (triple turkey: FF T&G, Wellness, By Nature; about 1/2 oz. of each). Now napping on his little bed next to the radiator.

He got weighed this morning: 17 lbs. 0.5 oz.!!! Gained an ounce and is now officially (in my book) overweight. I'd like him to get back down to 16 lbs., but I don't think I can limit his food amounts until the pancreatitis is over. In any event, he doesn't consume the number of calories that he should (according to the calorie/weight formulas). Gotta get him an exercise wheel

Hi Ella. Wonderful day for Rusty.

It's cold, but sunny here. We got a slight dusting of snow earlier, but not enough to stick. It's below average temps. Yuck.

Rusty isn't going to stay in the lagoon tonight (unless he changes his course!)
    Paddling films were great.
    See you all tomorrow.

Woohoo for Mr. Greenie!  How about staying at the lagoon a little longer, Rusty? Instead of the exercise wheel, you could get him a hamster? Maybe not so good for the hamster though... We had snow this week but it didn't stick.
