Shot a skinny.

Ate about 75% of his +2.5 and +4.5 (with lots of drama and fighting). He did not eat any of his +6.5 but did eat his FD treats at 8.5.

He had a large poo deposit this morning (overnight) just outside the LB :rolleyes:

I added some I and Love and You Wholly Cow to his regular food and reduced down the quantity of the entire cycle (including a smaller PS meal) in the hopes that this will get him to eat (be more hungry at the +2.5 and +4.5). In messing around with this I forgot to add his supplements:banghead:.

Will give Ondansteron and Cerenia at +2 this morning. The cypro didn't seem to do much for increasing the appy last night.

He did eat all his PS fudz this morning (mixed with MMR) and was talking to me while getting his feeder ready - obviously hungry. I had a serious love fest with him (he was purring the whole time) while have a stern talk about eating his fudz.

I am not sure about work today. I am extremely tired and worried about being away if he wont eat. I will see what his numbers are at +2 and go from there.

I'm glad you got some loving in with him
We had a long lovefest last night too. He got his brushing and chin scritches for 20min or so. I just wish I could figure out why he won't eat. It doesn't seem like he is nauseated or in pain. Just acts like he isn't hungry. My plan is to completely switch up his food and see if that helps. And reduce down the overall cycle quantity.

Of course I have the taboo FF T&G that he will almost always will eat but that is the last resort.

Oh Lizzie, he is sure giving you a run for your money. Wish he could talk and tell you what the heck is going on. Smart to skinny the dose with him not eating well and his numbers are better. And that said, makes me wonder is he eating less because his numbers have lowered or the other way around?

Got him to eat his +2.5. Had to take him to the feeder but once there he ate all of it without objection or a fight.

Your mentioned you have the FF in case and I take it he likes it? Maybe you should try it and see if he eats it. He could just be tired of what is being offered even though you do switch it up.

After Bubba had his last GI issue ( throwing up the worm, yuck ) I had a hard time getting to eat his raw food again. Carolina at Foodfurlife suggested trying another texture. She said cats get tired of the same texture over and over. I was feeding raw ground. So, I got boneless chicken and some turkey thighs and I cut it up in small chucks. Bingo! He started eating again. Now I give some chuck meals and some ground. Maybe that will help.

Hope he gets his appy back soon. I agree with Carla, my cats have always had periods where they just didn’t want to eat as much as usual, but it wasn’t the same as refusing to eat and after a short time, back to normal. Only a big deal because of the diabetes. Hope the smaller meals and food switch make all the difference.

That is what I suspect (at least in part). I changed to a pate (Dave's Turkey & Giblets) with a little of the Fowl Ball. I did get him to eat a good portion of his +4.5 (early) before I left and then I left the rest of the +4.5 along with a large spoonful of Wholly Cow mixed in that will be available till +6.5 (11a). When I got to work it had just turned to the +4.5 slot and he went and ate some (can't tell how much but more than just a nibble) (thank you webcam:)).

I am reducing him down to 0.75U tonight and the new batch of food is less total per cycle. I will make his PS meal smaller with a larger +2.5 portion.

He got Ondansteron and Cerenia and a dose of pain meds (Torbogisic) around +3.

That is exactly what he is acting like. Like he just isn't hungry (and also the battle of the wills:rolleyes:). It seemed to start when he hadn't poo'ed. I have high hopes for the food change and portions. This is just a glitch and we will get back on track. Just exhausting and scary (low numbers). It does not seem like it is a panc flare.

Thank you all for your support. It means a lot to me (and Gizmo :cat:) :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

When Asia had her ultrasound and was full of poo the vet said that might be why she wasn’t eating, it makes them feel full at best if not uncomfortable, that could certainly explain some of it.

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:Given the loving session, I'd not worry too much. My cats get so bored with their regular food that they leap into the bucket with the dog food and scurry away with a large dog pellet in their teeth, me in hot pursuit after them. A wonder they don't choke. :rolleyes:

PMPS=118 Shot 0.75U

History:
AMPS=104, +2=90, +3.5=79, +4=87

He ate all but about 1 tablespoon of his food today. I couldn't tell from the webcam how much was left in his +4.5 bowl but it wasn't as much as I thought it was.

Fingers crossed that eating goes better tonight.

Need help. He isn't eating. I finally broke down and gave him MC fish based food which he ate enough to keep me from going off the deep end.

He got 1/4 Cerenia and 1/2 tab of Ondansteron at +3 this morning.

Can I give more Cerenia tonight? I know it is 1x/day but can I give him another 1/4 (I would like to give 1/2 tab). He is acting semi-ok but not eating. He seems like his hind end is hurting(?) wobbly like? Kinda like he did a month or so ago when I thought he injured his leg. I am planning on giving a dose of pain meds to.

Any other suggestions? Should I give Mirtz? The Cyproheptadine didn't seem to do much. I am about sick and in tears. I just don't know what to do.

I'm sorry he's not eating and is wobbly, Lizzie. :bighug:

You can give the ondansetron every 8-12 hours, but as far as I know, cerenia is once a day. Do you think he's nauseous? Does he seem interested in eating but won't? Is he licking his lips? Maybe try the mirtz, but if you think nausea is in the picture, give the onda and let it have a chance to kick in before the mirtz.

I gave him 1/4 Cerenia, 1/2 onda, 1/4 Mirtz all in a gelcap. Then gave him a dose of bupe.

I can't tell what is wrong. Just scared and don't know what to do. He just finished a 10 min grooming session and went back to his "spot" where he has been laying recently.

Test in 5 min.

I just found the 1/4 tab of Mirtz on the paperplate I was using to put all the meds in the capsule so I don't think he got any. :banghead:

Going to test at +4.5 (25 min) then try and get him to eat some more FF.

I am hoping that by him grooming it's a good sign. Got to find out what's with the appy and the tail end problem. When he had the wobbling a month ago did he also lose his appy?
