Good morning!
AMPS 110 shooting 2.25u
Well I must say I was disappointed not to see a green again this morning. But given that his PM +3 was the same as as PMPS instead of being lower, I think he was having a wee bounce.

Boomer woke us around 4:00 but came btb when I called him. He ate all of his +3 and his extra food, some of his +6 and none of his +9 except for the chicken pieces. Yesterday DH picked up some pill pockets and he likes them and has been getting his A/B via pill pocket.

Allen ate well last night. Yesterday when I gave Boomer his mid-day a/b in a pill pocket, I also gave Allen a pill pocket and he liked it. So this morning he got his cisapride and diazoxide in a pill pocket.

The rest of the test results came in for Boomer. No infection. But the SpecfPL is elevated which could indicate pancreatitis however there are no symptoms present. I asked Marje to look at Boomer's labs and she indicates that her Gracie had elevated SpecfPL but never had pancreatitis. Oh....and Marje says the rest of his labs look good. :woot::woot: Thank you Marje :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

This is news to me! My civvie has elevated SpecfPL, but I never truly saw signs of pancreatitis so I always wondered.

Pill pockets rock! That's what I use for the civvie's meds and he thinks he gets a special treat every time because none of the other cats can have it! ;)

Forgot to include something in the above post. A few days ago there was a thread on Facebook and a "challenge" to tape off a square of carpet or flooring and see if your cat would sit in it. And look what happened.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Love the Boomer pic. My vet was never a fan of the SpecfPL test - said it is too easily influenced by other things going on in the body, like if a kitty has CKD it could cause the SpecfPL value to elevate even if p-titis wasn't present. Great news about no infection!

Love the picture.. Do the pill pockets raise blood sugars? I've never used them and have no clue what the ingredients are, so I thought I would ask

They do contain corn syrup. But they are so little I figured there wouldn't be enough syrup in one to have any effect.

Yay for no infection. I'm glad both kitties like the pill pockets. I've used them with Furball and not noticed it influence her BG. Great pictre of Boomer. I've heard of doing that and cats sitting in it. Circles are supposed to work too.

Still a nice start for Boomer!

Cute photo! And yeah for pill pockets! Forrest used to love them when I put is thyroid med in them, now he won't touch them.
Yes and I'm sure that will happen too....luckily Boomer only has a few days left on his A/B. With Allen I think I'll use the pill pocket in the morning when he gets 2 pills but not at night when he only gets one pill.

LOL! Look at that! You caught a Boomer and an Allen! How funny. I'm going to try it tonight! :bighug::cat::bighug:

I have been using pill pockets for years. For Squallie, I break of the smallest piece that will cover his pill(s) and he gobbles it down; since it's such a tiny amount, it's never had any effect on his BG.

I put the tape on the rug, but Rusty preferred sitting in my lap. We'll see if he discovers the "box" tomorrow.
My son put tape down for me, civvie girl Candy watched with interest and then proceeded to completely ignore it. The other three act like they don't even know it's there, lol! I'm going to leave it through tomorrow and see if anyone decides to sit in it.

It took Boomer a few hours to sit in it. Allen didn't sit in it until the following day.

That's what I was using too. All of a sudden one day, he just stopped eating them. I switched to salmon, nope.
My cats also stopped liking pill pockets. Now I use Tomlyn Pill-Masker for cats. They love it. It’s Kind of a paste but kinda not. Sort of a play-do consistency. Lol Comes in a tub. I bought mine at Petco but have seen it on Amazon as well. Much cheaper in the long run too. A little goes a long way.

Never heard of it, I'll check it out, thanks! :cat:

So far I've managed to "catch" both my sons, lol, but no kitties!:p

Good too know! Is it safe for diabetic cats?

Checking that out. One package of pill pockets cost $10.00 here. Ok for Boomer because he's only on the antibiotic for a week but Allen is on his meds for the rest of his life and he hates being pilled!
