Still have power, satellite TV is in/out due to heavy rain and clouds. Total of 16" in a 24 hour period. Still raining buckets. We are not flooding but the rest of Houston and surrounding areas are devastated.

Will post more in a bit but need to get some coffee and wake up a bit.

I was just thinking of you when the news said it was getting pretty bad in Houston. Glad that you still have power and haven't flooded. Stay safe. Move on Harvey!

Praying for you and yours today, Lizzie . Cannot imagine what it's like to be living it instead of just watching the news . Stay safe :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Glad to see an update and that you are doing okay. I'm glad you still have power. I can't imagine how bad it is. I hope Harvey moves on quickly. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

how bad are the rivers around you?
Everything is at crest or already over the banks. People have flooded houses to the 2nd story where they have never had flooding before. Still checking on every one - stepson is ok (at his moms) down by the coast. They haven't flooded but lost power for a bit but back on for now. Haven't heard from BIL/SIL (where MIL is) yet but we think they should be ok. They are on the power grid for the Houston dam and were one of the first to have power after Ike - lol.

Neighbors went to Baton Rouge for a family event. They left on Friday and are trying to get back. I told her I wouldn't try it. They have their 5yo grand daughter with them. Still waiting to hear from them on what they decided to do.

Here is a local channel that has some pictures and a live feed it anyone is interested.

This is about one mile from where I work. I drive through this intersection on my way to work every morning.

I didn't realize you are south at all, much less near Houston.

Me too. Getting a bit of cabin fever. If they want me to come to work tomorrow they will have to come get me and deliver me back home - lol. :D Are you getting any rain?

Made a batch of brownies a little while ago. :p Still warm if anyone wants one.[/QUOte/
Yum. Yes, please!
Lots of rain. Flooding south of me. Very uncertain and conflicting predictions here. We're on the edge of the cone. San Gabriel and its tributaries are a concern for me - low water crossings surrounding me. We got trapped here for 2 weeks, when the bridges washed out during that storm (was it 2010?) when 3 cells met and dumped 7 inches within an hour..
Right now, up here, we're facing a lot of rain - nothing much compared to what you're enduring.

Oh, I remember that. That was a horrible storm/flood. It sure seems like we have had our share of flooding over the past 10 years. I hope you don't get stranded. I live in a constant state of readiness. After Katrina (NO) I have all my emergency supplies and replenish as needed. The only thing I don't have is a fuel storage solution (for the generator) which I am trying to figure out but I think I am going to go with the tank that goes in the back of the truck. It hold about 100 gallons or so.

What people don't understand is it is expensive to go through a storm or natural disaster.

22.25" of rain since yesterday @ 6am at our house.

Reports from media is 419 BILLION gallons of water have fallen in Harris county! WOW!

All of the volunteers that are rescuing peeps is so heart warming.
It really is but it is just what we do in Texas. I have seen it time and time again.

Just got notification that work is closed tomorrow. Couldn't get there anyway but glad they made it official before tomorrow morning. People come from all over Houston and some leave early.

Thanks Les. Good to "see ya" :bighug: How have you been?

Thank you :bighug:

We are just fine. Very, very fortunate and thankful. Another band of rain is just starting to hit so another hour of heavy rain.
I am watching this now again on TV--as bad as it is I am in awe of the attitudes of Texans! You are amazing and tough as nails:)
